Jeff's Writing Workshop!

For me mostly!

I'm going to attempt daily updates again for a while because I've been in a slump lately, so everyone can help me out by suggesting things for me to write short poems or stories about.

Vague or specific, serious or absurd, I'll take and appreciate anything I can get from you guys. Feel free to post pictures, ideas, situations, single words, anything, and I'll go through this thread in chronological order as best I can.

Starting tomorrow morning I will get down to business!

    two things.

as we've learned from the witch's brew forum, duck side kicks are cooler thand dog sidekicks. I'd be willing to wager the more obscure the animal, the cooler it gets. Like a guy with a jellyfish for a sidekick.

second, write a story that involves this:

While a Jellyfish would be a cool sidekick, that would only lend to be useful in a body of water, making the human some sort of Aquaman-esque hero-type, and Aquaman is lame. So, unfortunatly, the Jellyfish would be lame by proxy.

    Maybe not...

What if the main character only has one arm, and the other was replaced with an arm-shaped tank of water with the jellyfish in it. I don't think jellyfish can be trained since they don't really have brains, but let's say this one has and it can use its tentacles to act as the characters hand.

    Haha, I need to sleep.

I did so do something for that! I maybe didn't finish it as it was turning into a bit of an epic story that wasn't about to be told in a couple minutes, but I submitted the beginning to the podcast. I cannot help if there are seemingly no persons working to bring you any satisfaction in audio form. If it is decided that it will not be used for a podcast, I could just post the story, but until I get word of such a thing you need to bug the podcast people.

Also, "duck, duck, goose" sounds wrong to me. I know this as "duck, duck, gray duck".

    "duck, duck, gray duck"?

Your poor syllable economy is ruining the ozone layer.

Personally, I believed the theory from "Bob and George".:D

Couldn't have put it better myself. I also rather liked the idea that a jellyfish has no real control over it's movement, they just kinda roll with the current. So this brainless meandering thing somehow ends up helping someone all the time. The arm fish tank is way cooler though. I think that may be the BEST idea for a super hero ever.

I don't make the rules, I just play by them. And around these parts, it's "gray duck" and when we'd play it, we'd actually say "duck-duck-gray-duck" when picking the chaser person. How's THAT for syllabic economy?

According to the 'pedia, gray duck is a sub-game within the duck duck goose UNIVERSE. Duck, duck, goose is an all-encompassing description. You crazy north/central United Statesters and your crazy advectives. I don't know where I'm going with this paragraph, I just wanted to point out the interesting article.
