Mmm, slim

Until a few hours ago, I never owned a PS2.

Okay, you can stop laughing now.

*Enjoys the company of his two memory cards.*

Either way, other games you should get:
Bully (Canis Camen Edit for the UKers)- Just plain fun.
Final Fantasy XII- If you're into to leveling up and other things of the sort, this is the perfect game for you!
Shadow of the Colossus- From the people who brought you ICO, this game has a real epic feel to it, and you get such a great sense of satisfaction out of knocking those gigantic hulks straight on their asses.
Resident Evil 4 (If you didn't get the gamecube version)- If you did beat the gamecube version, which I did over and over again, then you'll be surprised how well the game's feel transitions to the playstation controller. There's quite a bit of new content, including and especially Seperate Ways, but it's still the same game. It's well worth it now that it's 20 dollars.
God of War- Some people hate it, some people love it. I thought it was really fun, and it's an easy recommendation.

    That's about it for now.

    Edit: How could I forget?
Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistance- The rotating camera really opens up the gameplay, and the online mode really makes the game shine above it's predacessors. Plus, it's got the classic NES Metal Gear games, and tons of minor add-ons that weren't in Snake Eater.

My sister and I both received PS2 games for Christmas despite lack of PS2. She said we could play her Guitar Hero 2 until further notice.

    Which means we definitely will.

I further endorse Shadow Of The Colossus. It's the most epic game I've played since River City Ransom.

    Katamari Damacy!

Finally, you two get one! Did you figure out who was sending the games to you in the mail?

Has no one yet suggested 24 the game? Oh dear.

DDR in its many iterations! Also Gran Turismo 4.

Pshaw, Gran Turismo 3 was the pinnacle of PS2 racing simulators. Oooh, that reminds me, get Burnout 3.

I heard that the 24 game sucked balls. Still wanna try it though.

Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2! The thing I almost got a PS2 for! Then I just stole my friend's and beat them both. Its a good thing Guitar Hero is coming for the Wii eventually, otherwise I might be tempted to pick one up anyway.

Get any of the Sega Genesis Collections. I know Angelo will agree. Where is that boy, anyway?

I have to further endorse Shadow Of Colossus, that games is fricken' awesome! I suggest Time Splitters: Future Perfect if you like shooter games, and Burnout 3 or Burnout Revenge.

    Pfft, Timesplitters 2 FTW, Jhonny.

If you don't mind short, weird, badly voice-acted games with not-so-great graphics, I'd suggest Graffiti Kingdom. You DRAW your own characters! My killer battle team consists of a dragon who looks way cuter than intended (I was going for "mean" but I'm bad at that), a pimped out hot rod, a fox-like thing that would basically be if Eevee were blue (I named it "Red"), a hopping red blob, and I think I made a rabbit last time I played.

I'm sufficiently intrigued! It sounds like a game design tailor-made for the DS though.

Yeah, you can make some weird stuff. Here's some interesting screenshots I found:

Bub actually comes with the game, if you can find him:

meh, i'll loan it to ya. it's worth playing once, but there is ZERO replay value. (other than shooting Kim in the face.)

EDIT: oh yea, and my list of fav's for PS2:

    Devil May Cry 3
    God of War
    Gran Turismo 4
Contra (somethingerother... i'm not at home and can't remember the subtitle)
Katamari Damaci & We heart Katamari
    Silent Hill 3 & 4
    all the metal geary goodness
and DEFINITELY Shadow of the Collosus

I had a lot of fun with Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. I never played the sequel though, and I think that was a multi-system release.

The Contra you're hopefully thinking of is Shattered Soldier, Neo Contra is awful. On one stage the protagonists are running on helicopter blades, while the helicopter is in flight.

But yeah, Contra: Shattered Soldier is well worth it.
