Should I import Elite Beat Agents?

edited March 2007 in Games
It's not out in the UK yet, and has no release date in the UK.

I can import it for £20 (?$40), so do you guys think I should? I could read reviews, but I prefer you lot :P

It is by far the best game on the Nintendo DS. I'm sure someone will come in and say Starfox or some such is better, but they are wrong. It's an addictive music game with (surprisingly) catchy music and adorably heartwarming narrative. Also it has more great 2D art than any game I can think of.

Watch some videos on Youtube and see if it looks fun to you.

    I did.

It has my favourite song: I was born to love you.

    I'm sold!

That is such a great level.

But then, Leonardo never made his helicopter, but considering this game has men dancing, which in turn solve peoples problems, you need a suspension of disbelief, so hurrah!

They can travel through time too.

I have the DS Starfox game (there's only one, right?) and Starfox is not the best game on the DS, even in the absence of EBA. Hotel Dusk is the best game on the DS that I've played so far.

I sent Serephel to Japan to buy This game for me. I should have it within a week. I really wanted to buy it back in July or August, but I had no money. It looks like an awsome game.

Elite Beat Agents was the US re-imagining of a japanese title, which they thought wouldn't sell in the west due to it's japanese pop culture influences.

Didn't know they sold this one in Japan...

Apparently we Americans don't "get" male cheerleaders. Oh well, Elite Beat Agents was a lot of fun in its Western re-imagining, and I can't wait to play the sequel. Import right away!

MY brother had to pay around $40 for it here, and I think it's well worth it. Of course, it wasn't my money, but still.

"Elite Beat Agents" in the US is "Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan!" (Go! Fight! Cheer Squad!) in Japan.

This factoid has been submitted only because I am in love with the Japanese game, and feel that both are quite fun, independent of one another.

One thing about Japanese games I don't get to be honest, is the very long, rather strange names.

Why are they like this? "Go! Fight! Cheer Squad!" just seems a bit...Strong to me, if that makes sense.

And "Mogitate Tingle no Barairo Rupee Land", well that's just baffling, to be honest...

"Go! Fight!" makes a whole lot of sense for cheerleaders.

I think Japanese game titles are hilarious in general, like [eM] eNCHANT aRM. Also Brain Age's title is EPIC.

All joking aside though, the game is excellent and I play it despite the weird looks my friends give me.

    Chicago is not pop.

NP thinks that it's awesome. More awesome than the awesome that most games are.
