Comic #42: Laundry Day Part II (3/21/07)

Part 2! I think this one came out pretty good, except that Pichu looks badly pixellated when he's thundershocking. I was kinda of in a hurry, that being the last thing I did before wrapping up. Plus I finally got Photoshop (I can make good Brews now!) and decided to experiment with effects, because Inkscape isn't as... "effective". Next time I'll prepare a bit more for the transition.

You may notice that Pichu put a flashlight in the laundry basket. He must've known this would happen. Eh, never hurts to prepare.

I don't think light switches work like that! I demand electrical correctness in pokemon comics!

It's not really the light switch doing it, it's like... the wire or something. I dunno... some lab in physics class we had to power a light bulb, but the teacher said if we gave it too much the bulb could break. So that's what happened here. It like, ran up the wire or something.

It could work like that. A light switch is just a break in an electrical circuit. You could pull the wires from the switch and attach them to a new power sorce (Pichu) and light the lights. And of course, you could send a surge and burn out the lights, I don't think they'd explode, though. That'd require rapid heat changes of the glass.

    It's an exploding light bulb!

I was more referring to how the switch lit up the bulbs with an external power source. Also, the third panel made me laugh for quite a while.

It's kind of covered by the sparkiness, but there is a wire leading out the top of the switch. Old, neglected insulation might let some of the electricity in. I dunno, I'm no electrician. (Though I'm sure my father could tell you anything you needed to know.)

EDIT: Darn it, I forgot to draw the continuation of said wire connecting the ceiling bulbs. I also forgot the usual shadows under the characters. Sounds like an "I'll fix it tomorrow" to me!

    Agree'd.

This is one of the better looking comics in your collection. I hope more of them are atleast half as shiny.

Pichu going "hmm" is now the best thing ever.

And now to interrupt the topic for some drawings. I should really make a "sketch dump" thread. Maybe later.

    Maurices!
    Pichus!
An Espeon, three cars, and some kid!

    Meddling kid!

I thought the Maurices looked especially good.

I like the one where Maurice looks like he's mad at his tail.
