SCIENCE! Movie: "Attack The Gas Station!"

edited June 2007 in Movies and Shows
A few people asked me this, so I'll clarify: no, that is not a typo of "Attack Of The Gas Station!". Though that movie sounds pretty awesome as well, this is a film about disaffected Korean hoodlum youths that decide one night to attack a gas station. And then they do it again. We clear now? Excellent!

Despite the low-budget quality, I thought this movie told an interesting story. I liked how they hinted at little character quirks that made more sense when you saw their flashback sequences.

I was a little confused by the character referred to in the credits as "Mad Dog", since he was called "Loose Cannon" by several characters in the movie, and his inner jacket said "Cool Dog" on the back. Still a great character though.

Jeff, you'd love the anger-prone delivery boy. I did.

To Paul and Geoff: sorry we didn't get to watch it all the way through on Saturday. I definitely recommend Netflixing it up at the first opportunity, it was a lot of fun. That goes for all of you.

Next week in SCIENCE!: Ethan Hawke plays a genetically inferior individual in Gattaca! Should be a real stretch. ^_^

    Gattaca! That movies pretty good.

We are not talking about Gattaca here! Stay on topic! And that topic is:

Attack The Gas Station strip word game! The theme is SCIENCE! movies, any reference is fair game.

    What's a strip word game?
  • edited June 2007
Basically, you need to supply a word that begins with the last letter of the word before you. If you fail to supply that word, or supply a repeat, you have to remove a garment (though I guess that penalty is less applicable to more than 2 people playing on the internet).

A guy in Attack the Gas Station! initiated this game to prove to a pretty girl that he was not stupid.

Their version was more complex, since they had separate categories. His was innuendo, hers was insults. Made me think of the Ninja Turtles movie (OH MY GOD WHY ISN'T THAT ON THE LIST).

    Night of the Living Dead!

(Also, I can't wait to watch Primer again. I had heard nothing about the story going into it. It totally blew me away. If you haven't heard anything about it, don't look at any spoilers!!)

Will do! What we watched of it was hilarious. Now fix my phone.

    EDIT: oh, and "Dog pancreas".

Superfluous use of Rockin'! by anyone other than me is foolish!

Night Lord, when was Yemen referenced? Put the movie down or you suck. Also, Jake does use Rockin' in real life, and it's just fine.

    I'm taking your turn back.

"Santa's Slay" (obviously, from Santa's Slay)

    (Y is hard)

I wish American gas stations were like Korean ones, or at least that specific Korean gas station. Gas hoses that spontaneuously drop from the ceiling are rockin'. This movie made me wonder if that forehead on the floor position is a common punishment over there.

Sigh, fine. You all owe me one internet garment.

I retract Santa's Slay and put forth: Strip Club

No. I don't see why a SCIENCE! tv show is any less valid than a movie.
