Something written

I have a special treat for everyone. I, with the permission of Mario, have started writing a novelization of The Zelda Comic. Please Read it and tell me what you think so far . Preferably both here and of The site that it's posted on.

Here's the (new) Link. http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3606036/1/

Wait, the novelization is just a transcript of the comics? I thought it was gonna be, like, a fanfic or something.

There are going to be differences and I added my own personal comments and not everything will be the same. If you read the story you would see that.

111111111111111111111 Is there supposed to be those?
  • edited June 2007
Yes they are. They signify a transition. It's very common among Fanfiction writers

hrmmm... interesting, though I think it'd be cool if there was more description and interpretation as opposed to relatively straight transcription with some commentary.

Yeah, the Oh No Robot search engine provides much of this functionality already (transcriptions with commentary). I did, in fact, read what you have so far, and most of it is straight-up transcription. Also, the 111 transition marker makes transition kind of abrupt between episodes; maybe if you embellish and write in more smooth transitions, you wouldn't have any need for the line breaks.

I can't wait till she gets to the part with the pizza and the DDR machines!

I'm trying. I didn't have a lot of time to actually do the writing like I should have. Why, because I have 3 other stories that I'm working on. Give me some time, and the next chapter will be better.

Erm, I know I'm going to sound like a complete jerk here, but I personally think your novelisation is a bit lacking, it looks like you're just transcribing the comics. So I decided to try my hand at writing my own little novelisation of the first two comics which actually contain a plot... Not to sleight you or anything Ocarina, I just wanted to see how I'd do at it.
    You can find it here

Yeah, you're right about the jerk thing, but it's the truth. I really sucked for the first chapter and I'm going to revise and make better. Also leave all flames on Fanfiction.net so I can use them to my advantage later on

Yea, what Night Lord wrote is what I was trying to say you should head towards when I posted before. I'm not tryin' to force you into Night Lord's style, (by all means, write how you wanna write, screw it.) but I think you'll likely get more interested readers by writing more content, rather than being so dialogue oriented.

I just updated, but I havd to delete the original to do that, so here's the new (and hopefully better) version. This version is now available using the original post. You know that you can comment. I won't accept downright haters, but constructive critisism is welcome. Please.

Of course, if you wish to continue to write in the same style, you might want to elaborate on the story. Try to make a reason why people would want to read your fanfiction when they could just read the comic.

Try reading the comic. It'll blow your mind. (Sorry)

EDIT: I just scared him away, didn't I.
