Well I'm pretty sure VRChat is a free game thingy on steam that doesn't require but simply supports VR headsets. Even still, I feel a bit with you on feeling kinda Shawn-is-old about it or rather VR in general.
-
I'm not cool enough for VR.
-
I don't really understand the fondness for the Game Cube controller, but if people liked them that much then good on Nintendo I guess.
-
Woah. I didn't realize this was an old thread at first. I didn't get to see much this last time though. Stupid clouds.

Digging the new style. Feels more proper now.

Truly the dream of every reptile is to godzilla a large city. Godzilla is a verb now.

Boxes full of mystery and/or garbage? What's not to love?!

I assure you, having a Windows Phone is roughly equivalent to not having a smartphone as regards pokemon. In my case though I was never that much into pokemon, so it's not a huge deal to me.

On the subject of conclusions, the final stretch has begun and is on a course to finish up on the anniversary. I'd be a bit sad in some ways to part ways with this comic, but the large breaks have broken me of any particular habit of reading it so I'm actually pretty ready for it to end. Also it's been like 7 years? As we…

Pichu knows much and little at the same time.

He needs a proper black trenchcoat to go with the shirt. Or would that be too punk/emo/goth? Or maybe striving for show accuracy would make him a geek?

I...don't really follow upcoming releases for games these days. Some of the games I've liked the best are odd indy titles that pop up out of nowhere and I'm behind enough that I've just been playing Borderlands 2 finally now that it's good and old.

Indeed! Sadly no snow this year so no big fires likely here, but I'm sure we'll be fine.
-
Those jack-o-lanterns look a bit distressed. The smiling one must be to blame.
-
Master of Law is a pretty badass title. I like it.

But Ryan has lived in 2 continents. Does that make this a very nearly 4 continent meetup? I'm not sure what the rules are for this. Looks like good times!

Codenames are a pretty handy way of differentiating architectures. Actual product names are rarely helpful in making the actual technical capabilities of a product clear. It's a thing that bothers me and I'm happier if more people are at least aware of these codenames.
-
I wasn't really expecting people here to be familiar with all the code names it was mostly just a mental dump. I haven't tried Windows 10 yet but I had figured on waiting a couple months at least to try it. The bigger challenge for me is if I can find some way to upgrade a win7 computer on a 30GB ssd with virtually zero…

Incoming tech chatter... Windows 10 is being unleashed upon the world. And the launch can thus far be summed up as "Windows 10: Something Happened". If you don't know what I mean by that try google. It's funny stuff. On the hardware front Intel will have Skylake coming up. Leaked benchmarks don't seem to promise too much…

I checked my phone at work and all was well. I get home 20 minutes later and my phone is dead. No power, won't respond to any attempt to charge. Yet I was more irate about the traffic on the way home than the phone. I guess I wasn't that attached to it.

Magic has been around for a long time it seems. I remember kids playing it in middle school. Now I got a little nephew who would probably be more than happy to tell me all about it. Yet I still know little beyond that it is a collectible card game called Magic: The Gathering. Strangely I often thought life as an adult…

Firefox is probably best. I thought about Pale Moon after I posted that. Good thought. Opera really is a sad thing these days. If you really need Chrome but want to stay as clear from google as you can, I guess it's an option? Otherwise I'm left wondering if the Vivaldi tech preview works on XP. I'm kind of hoping Vivaldi…
-
You could also try Opera? Although everything after Opera 12 is based on Chromium and thus you might as well use Chrome. Also, Chrome as I understand it can be a problem for old computers with very limited resources. Needs a lot of memory with those separate tab processes. Maybe Opera 12? I'm not sure if that'd be a better…

Yeah...the internet wasn't what it was. Also, there are people (including people who make Firefox) who think we should transition the entire web to https so ALL web traffic is encrypted. IE6...isn't really suitable for todays web. At all. In fact IE 11 is technically going to be the end of IE. In it's place will be the new…

I have precisely no consoles whatsoever and not even a tv that I could hook one to these days. "PC master race" or some such thing I guess. I'll just take your word on the game's excellence as it's unlikely I would get around to trying it out myself. I can't even get to all the games I have now. It would probably be more…

I never actually played Banjo and Kazooie, but I guess I might have been just slightly too old to buy into the N64 generation completely? Impressive kickstarter though.

I feel like I've missed part of a conversation. So uh...How's the weather in St Petersburg?
