Happy Thanksgiving! I'm thankful for not having anything to do with Black Friday.
-
Lucky for them, the smiling one didn't deal with the candle heat too well. After a few days its lid shriveled up too much to stay on.
-
Carved some jack-o-lanterns for Halloween, and drew the pokemon Braixen, who people tend to associate with witches for some reason.
-
And now you get to put "Esquire" after your name all the time! Actually I read that you're always allowed to do that, as long as you're not doing it in order to fool people into thinking you're a lawyer.

You guys are some adventurous globetrotters! And here I've never even been to a state that doesn't border the Atlantic Ocean.

I know nothing about all those codenames, but I guess I'll have to learn if I want to build my own computer eventually. I'm interested in trying Windows 10, but only one of my computers has Windows 7 right now, and I don't want to risk losing it. In case 7 ends up remaining better. Windows 10's multiple desktops thing…

I got my house! I've been living here all week and everything is... not totally together yet, but I'm getting there! I still have to bring over a couple more pieces of furniture, and one of the rooms is full of boxes that I thought would fit in the shed but don't. My parents said they'll probably let me keep that stuff at…

EarthBound-related surprise today! Nintendo released the English version of the original MOTHER on the Wii U's Virtual Console to celebrate the 20th anniversary of EarthBound's SNES launch. The NES version is renamed "EarthBound Beginnings" for its English release. Oh, also Lucas and some other guys are downloadable in…

After looking into the Chrome thing, I found out that Firefox does still support XP. It was Windows versions older than XP that stopped at 3. Which is good, because I'm no Chrome fan. Also, I'm not sure what the reason is for Opera's continued existence if it's just Chrome now. Turns out that there is also an XP-compatible…

Eventually I'm planning to get a state-of-the-art current desktop PC, but I'm conserving resources at the moment. That USB 3 is looking pretty cool though. Won't have to plug every peripheral in three times anymore. Also, it turns out I was wrong about automatic updates no longer working with XP... that computer was just…

My grandmother just gave me her old computer as she never uses the thing, so I wiped it and started from scratch. It runs Windows XP, and I hate to say it, but... we finally seem to have reached a point where it's difficult to use the internet on a plain copy of Windows XP. The IE6 that it starts off with has always been…

I misread "Mr. Nobody" as "Mr. Noobity". Haven't seen this one yet, though my "Fast & Furious" checklist has significant gaps. I think I've seen the first one, parts of the second, and the one that came out last year.

Banjo-Kazooie was great and continues to hold up. If you've got an Xbox360, you can download it from the arcade.

Yesterday they revealed the main characters to this new game, now titled Yooka-Laylee. The characters are Yooka, and Laylee. They also launched a Kickstarter campaign, which met its initial goal in about 40 minutes and by this point has passed all but one of their stretch goals. Game's looking pretty good, I'm getting…

I'm attempting to put an offer on a house! Success not guaranteed, but it's the furthest I've made it into the process thus far.
-
Awesome, that's pretty much what I was going for, with the flareon going one way and the fire going the other. The background wasn't planned that way, but I'm glad it accidentally helped.
-
Started this on a whim for a friend and it ended up being the best thing I've made in a long time. Funny how that happens.
-
They just announced some great news regarding the game's soundtrack: It's being worked on by both Grant Kirkhope (Banjo-Kazooie series, Donkey Kong 64, Goldeneye 007) AND David Wise (Donkey Kong Country series, Diddy Kong Racing). Also Steve Burke, who did some music on Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts'n'Bolts and some other newer…

They don't hold a candle to Mario's Zelda puns. But that's sort of the idea. I've drawn some other stuff since the last time I updated this thread, I just haven't gathered it all in one place yet. But this picture was topical so I had to post it tonight. Oh wait, it's past midnight where I am. Darn it.
-
Oh man, it's the extended Marioverse. Imagine the crossovers! Zelda meets Kid icarus meets Bubble Bobble?

Everytime I think I found a good place, somebody buys it out from under me. Usually it happens before I can even go look at the place, but a few months ago I showed up at a house for a meeting with the realtor. She gets out of her car and goes "I hope you hate it." "Why?" "Somebody called and put down a full cash offer…

I was hoping to have a legitimate reason to add to this thread, but then the storm went around my town and we only got two inches instead of two feet. Well, at least my mom made chocolate chip cookies. That is an excellent snow day activity right there.

I need a house badly. I'm trying to skip the apartment phase and go straight from "parents' house" to "own house". But right now my room is pretty much overflowing with all the crap I've accumulated.

Yeah, the comic is great but I always need to have it explained to me. It was great when I was reading through the archives the first time, because I had a different forum's MSPA thread opened up in a different tab. So I'd read a few comics, and then switch over and read the corresponding forum posts. But now I'm pretty…

Pre-Thanksgiving nor'easter right now and I'm loving it. Mostly because it essentially gives me a five day weekend. (Today is 'work from home', but that's still preferable to actually going anywhere)
-
I just kinda really enjoy sleeping.
-
It's hard. I get up at 7:15 for work and therefore plan to be in bed at midnight, but something interesting always happens on the internet and makes me stay up another hour or two. So I just kinda get gradually more tired as the week goes on, and then make up for it on the weekend by sleeping till like 1pm.

One that I absolutely couldn't understand last winter was when the road was covered in snow and the person in front of me decided to hit the brakes on their way up a hill. I drive a rear-wheel-drive vehicle, so if I can't keep my momentum up I lose traction and begin fishtailing. I nearly slammed into this person because I…

It snowed on the drive home tonight! And the driver in front of me immediately switched to "drive 40 in a 50mph zone because I saw a couple snowflakes, even though the road is too warm for any of it to stick" mode.
