What the shit?!? No one's gotten drunk in 3 weeks?!? This thread should never be on the second page. Shame on you. I am drunk! And I love you all!! Wooooo!
-
I don't want this thread to die. I love the new Doctor Who. I really don't care that there's plot holes or deus ex machinas everywhere. I want to enjoy myself when watching Doctor Who, and for the most part, I do with the new series. There are bad episodes, certainly, but I like the whole series! And we've just recently…

The spellcheck tells you you're making a mistake when you type 'makes'?
-
What about them? The apostrophe? I said up above that you only use the apostrophe s for possessive except for its/it's. Well, I guess that's uses it as well. I guess I didn't think of that. But I used its/it's because it's a strange rule because this is the only case that the possessive doesn't get the apostrophe. But…
-
Phone, just a little bit of friendly grammar advice: you only use the apostrophe s when you're indicating the possessive or for contractions involving 'it'. The only exception to this is its/it's. 'Its' is the possessive, 'it's' is the abbreviation for 'it is'. So for plurals, such as nails, cars, bicycles, you just use an…

MURDER MAY. A guy.... a guy gets murdered. In an eat.... in an all-you-can-eat buffet. Yeah. And that happens forever.
-
Because SOME people here still have the dignity to look presentable and not walk around like ruffians with their face hair hanging out. REALLY. BTW, Scott, is that your bishie waifu?
-
Yeah, I'd also be happy to help clear out spambots if you need extra people.
-
What the.... Christ almighty. This is the worst outbreak I've seen.
-
As most of you know, I am beardless by choice. I don't feel that my face supports a beard, particularly since I'm going for a sort of pretty boy with long hair look anyway.

Perhaps GOOD whiskey should be had on its own, but when you're poor and can only afford Evan Williams or some similar cheap knockoff, it's best to mute the flavor with some other strong mixer, like Coke.
-
Panda has a long, though perhaps not overly prolific, history with the Belt. He's my fellow metalhead; he's coo.
-
Hmm... so now we have the next generation of spambots in the Tom Servo thread. This one has a picture and is actually trying to sound like it generally needs help with something. Scary.
-
Aww, it has meat. Well, your recipe for the actual chili part looks pretty good, though, so I may try that.
-
Yeah, the 'crack in the world' thing should be more downplayed, seriously. Davies did that a lot better, especially in series 4 where every so often someone would mention a lost planet but it fit seamlessly into the show as just conversation or part of the story. This is way too obvious. The Weeping Angels did work well as…

Each is entitled to his/her opinions. I just finished another runthrough and enjoyed it thoroughly all the way through. Both the game AND the music.

Well, while I did recant a bit, are stories of players overcoming adversity part of the "medium" of football? I understand that there are certainly stories that happen through football, but I'm not sure that they're directly the result of the game itself. And really this is all borne upon Ebert's comparison, anyway. But I…
-
What was your talk about? Or would have been about?
-
Well, okay, let me restate: football does have a narrative, perhaps in a broader sense of the word. But there's essentially a limited number of possible "stories" that can come out of a football game because each game is played with essentially the same rules. Not only do different games have different rules, but with the…
-
I completely agree with both of you. Any game that fully takes advantage of the medium will be much different when you're playing or watching it. And yes, he thinks that it's like chess or football, but chess and football cannot have narratives.

So, we've got a few new people. Did y'all come together? Also, do any of you know Jayla/Locked in a crystal personally? She posted in the RPG thread but she hasn't been on in a week and can't accept messages, and I'd hate for her to miss out now that it's back.
-
Really, though, we don't want to send the impression to this crop of new people that we're a bunch of nitpickers who scream at people for the slightest quirk of behavior that isn't "usual." As long as there aren't gigantic picture sigs or slews of useless threads or posts, what's the harm?

I've been... erm, popping over to Britain to watch them for the British premier times, so I've seen the first three episodes now. I really enjoyed Eleventh Hour. I was hoping Matt Smith would be good, and so far he is. He's enjoyable to watch, and you're right, he's different than the Tenth Doctor but has some similarities…

((Thanks for your patience, everyone. Let the gaming continue!!)) Suicho: You examine the shelves. There are a few tools here and there, but not near as much as you need. The woman who appears to be guarding you and Chenda sees you rummaging and interjects, "Master told me to tell you that anything you need can be created…

Obviously I disagree with him, but he makes his points very well and I could ALMOST agree except for a few small details which are of paramount importance. But I don't want to just stand on my soapbox... what do you all think?

Video games can never be art by Roger Ebert.
-
Well, I only demonstrated a bit of Passage since I didn't have a lot of time. But I included Grave, And Everything Started to Fall, and Judith. I also linked to the Pretentious Indie Gamer Scene, increpare's website, and Cactusquid's website.

Necrothreading, but for a reason. I wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who contributed to this thread. I gave my presentation last Saturday and I had quite a large audience for such a small conference (about 40 people). Afterward several people came to talk to me about how much they liked the presentation. One woman…

OBers: Surely enough time's been spent denying the letter 'e'. Let's engorge sentences! Surely we have adequate challenge here, since several key articles are forbidden under these rules! These changes require creative sentences! Disagree? Let the idea be vetoed, strike these utterances, be done. However, please let me…

Gallic? Is that a Gallic symbol?
