I'm sorry to change my status, but Mario and I are not going to be able to make Connecticon this year. The combination of superhigh gas prices and too many days to take off of work and school pretty much killed it for us. We hope to make the trip back east next year.

We feel really bad about it too! I was looking forward to seeing old faces and meeting new faces as well!

However! Because it is more in our general vicinity and takes less travel time on our part (thereby not necessitating any time off from work or school), we will be attending the San Diego Comic-Con. We understand if this convention is too far out of everyone else's way (in the future we intend to look into other conventions, maybe somewhere in the middle of this vast country of ours), but if you are able to swing it, let us know! We'd be thrilled to see you there!

If there is interest, I'll make a new thread and help everyone arrange travelin', because I'm cool like that.

My continued employment problems look like they're going to preclude my going to Connecticon this year, too, and SDCC is right out.

I'm probably going to San Diego Comic Con. I'll be with my sister, though, so meeting you guys migt be a little awkward for her. Let's keep in touch anyway, though!

Yes, please meet up with us there! It would rock so hard!

    Sweet!

Is Lang's sister hot? I bet she is.

I'm thinking about getting them plane tickets.

This'll be the best San Diego Comic-Con ever! I demand that more people be able to attend!

I demand that I may or may not be able to attend! I demand rigidly defined areas of doubt and uncertainty!

There's a frood who really knows where his towel is.

I demand acceptance of the fact that I can't go! Maybe if the convention was in Washingtonville, NY, then I'd totally go! Totally.

Nope, again, problem is that there is a large body of water between where I live, and almost 2 whole countries (I pretty much live in the most eastern part of England), and CA is at the far western end of the US of A.

Anyone wanna go to the UK Webcomix thing? That I can get to!
  • edited May 2006
They have webcomics in the UK?
  • edited May 2006
...Bollocks Comics, and I used to have a webcomic.

Chugworth Academy is done by a guy from Scottland! IT'S TRUE! I MET HIM AT CONNECTICON!
  • edited May 2006
WOW! He's Scottish too? Now he really is my hero.
  • edited May 2006
I knew he was from Europe, but I didn't know he was from Scotland. Chugworth is good stuff.

Maybe some conventions somewhere in the middle of this vast continent of ours? Maybe in Costa Rica or Panama? Then I could go! And maybe Nuki too?

Or maybe it was Northern Ireland...

I'd be up for traversing a little further south, if something of interest comes along. Let me know if you find any, kuko!

I've got a job now (tech support for a web hosting company) so travelling for cons is becoming a possibility again, but I don't think my financial situation will have recovered enough by ComicCon for me to be able to afford a trip to California. If we can arrange something in three or four months, though, I should be able to attend.

I'd love to go south, Kukopanki.

DI, I'd possibly be up for a con later in the year, since this summer turned out pretty disorderly for us as well. I think that we all have to keep our eyes out for different conventions. Or else, start our own like Narbonicon.

Ok, so it's settled then: convention at my house.
  • edited June 2006
    Does that mean free?
  • edited June 2006
    It means AWESOME.

    (But not necessarily free)
