I want snow not necessarily here, but in the mountains near HERE!

Geoff, stop trying to both have your cake and ski on it too.

SNOW EVERYWHERE. I'm tired of global warming, bring on nuclear winter!
  • edited November 2007
Agreed! except for the nuclear part. I would enjoy snow here also. If it is snowing here, it is definitely snowing in the Sierras.

Old Man Winter fucked me in the ass today, compounded by the fact that the Toronto Transit Commission is pathologically incapable of running their streetcars on anything vaguely approaching a schedule.

My area still lacks winter. But apparently it's supposed be arriving just as I'll be driving my lightweight rear-drive vehicle back up to college.

Throw some bags of sand in the bed of your truck over the axle.

It'll help, and if you get stuck, you can use the sand to give your wheels some traction to get unstuck.
  • edited November 2007
If I had any sandbags, I'd be far too busy hitting them with baseball bats.

Just go by Wal-Mart or Home Depot or something, a bag of sand isn't that expensive and it's a good idea to have in your truck.

My roommate keeps a pair of bags in his truck every winter, it's a smart thing to do.

Myself, I have a blanket in my car, because last time I got stuck I was in a ditch for hours.

Snow! It's only been five or ten minutes, but the road already has a thin layer almost completely covering it.
  • edited December 2007
Meh, we got a few inches. The weatherpeople were saying it'd 2-3 times as much as we actually got. Not really uncommon.

It won't snow in Florida! AGH.

supposedly a storm of some kind is blowing in, I hope school gets cancelled.
  • edited December 2007
I heard about that. There were flurries in the morning and now it's progressed to light freezing rain. I hope school gets canceled.

It snowed like half an inch here today. I can't wait to drive on the ice-covered roads an hour before sunrise tomorrow. Then I get out of work just in time to drive on the re-frozen roads after dark. It'll be so much fun.

Ya know, I never thought I'd say this, but I'm starting to prefer summer over winter. I may produce about a gallon of sweat each day and just have a general feeling of wanna die, but it's just so much easier to get things done.

    But...but.. think about the snowmen!
  • edited December 2007
There's nothing wrong with winter. Except the snow and ice on the roads. And the cold. And the dark. And basically everything about winter.

Yes! The school I go to, along with the local district (it's a state school, not a local one) are the only schools in the state to get the day off for the light dusting we recieved. which balances out the fact that last year, we were the only ones not to get a snow day.

It has snowed once so far in Dallas this winter, and I was in Arkansas at the time so I missed it! When I came back temperatures were back to normal (70s or so), so it was great.

I really don't like cold weather... I think it's because I'm naturally cold ALL the time, and I love summers. It's been about 40 in the mornings for the past 2 days, and me and my mom, realizing that it's really not THAT bad, agree that we really dislike winter. She actually has an excuse though, she grew up in Chicago, so any cold weather makes her remember of how cold it used to get in the winters up north.

40? When I wake up it is somewhere around 4. There are snowbanks everywhere, and the roads are slicker than a greased pig. It's totally freakin' awesome.
  • edited December 2007
Hellz yeah! We just got our first big snowfall yesterday. Even though it sucks driving, it is so beautiful. And being cold sure beats sweating like crazy.
  • edited December 2007
My dorm has incredibly high heat, so I have to alternate between being cold and sweating like crazy...

YAY!!! It's finally putting some snow down in the mountains, which hopefully means snowboard season approaches for us califonians!! To celebrate, I give you a custom made old man lolcat.

It rained a little today, to the soundtrack of bitter complaints about seventy degree weather. Welcome to California.

Tonight I decided not to slow down in the icy parking lot and drifted around the corner instead. It was just like the video games! I like ice, as long as it stays off the actual roads...
  • edited December 2007
SNOW!!! I get to try my new snowboard soon also! It is so rad!

    My new board

sweet! I will go for that. It must be very awesome though. I do not have my board at the moment, cause it is getting ready for winter. Oh, and the guy at Mel Cottons was a bit surprised when he saw my pow board. It was nasty.
