International trade is a consequence of the theory of Free Trade which states that an international economy void of trade barriers will allow countries to independently focus on means of production in which they have a competitive advantage which in turn means that at the short term expense of a loss of certain noncompetitive jobs overseas there is a greater quantity of goods available for trade sold at lower prices which benefits all consumers.
