    Hahahaha.

I win! Core members have seen pics.

Everyone else has heard my slurring Anglo/Australian accent.

Plus my avatar is Pong - The Ultimate.

I've heard Jakey sing. And Mario. and possibly stef... but no specific memories of stef singing...

    Haha, Geoff, count yourself lucky.

'Lore: I thought about it for a while at work today, and I have absolutely no idea why I was so convinced that the Butters avatar was yours. I clearly remember your early avatars, and they were definitely NOT Butters. Sorry about that. Glad you're not pissed. *gratuitious internet hug*

Jon: I think all of your wins automatically get transferred to your beard. International law, I believe. JON: 0 BEARD: 1

I know we can't all have the voice of an angel like Jake, but that's no reason not to sing! :)

I've heard Stef sing the theme songs to various sci-fi shows that don't have lyrics. And the Legend of Zelda theme song, which she transcribed to Zelda Comic's forum description.

    What?! When was this???

I sing 80s and 90s children's television show theme songs. And Godspell songs.

you called me when you were drunk that one time and sang some song i couldn't identify. I can say, however, despite it's lack of identifiable content, it was quite boisterous and had pleasant booming overtones.

I may have cleared out a bar with my singing once. I can't be sure if it was just a coincidence.

The people whose voices I've heard, I remember when I read their posts. The rest I sort of assign voices of other people I've known with similar speaking styles or personalities.

On the topic of singing: My voice is okay, but it's a bit rough round the edges.

My sister and mother sing like banshees. Incredibly shrill and out of key.
  • edited April 2008
Behemoth, what song did you sing? Do you think that if I sing it, I could clear out my lab?

Um, excuse me, Mario, but I believe that my greatest contribution to the field of Finding Lyrics For Instrumentals was in fact for a legal drama.

    Bohemian Rhapsody.

Come now, Stef, don't be so modest. Thanks to you, we can proudly announce in song when it is time for The X-Files.

But yes, I also very much enjoy "Law & Order Song". And Battlestar Galactica's theme song, "Rudy Can't Fail".

I've heard a few voices of people from orangebelt over the phone a really long time ago, but I don't really remember all of the members who I talked to. I do remember once getting a drunk phone call on new years one year as well... I can't remember who it was, either. And I know it wasn't Jake, because I didn't know him through the forums at the time.

The only voices I've heard on the forum are Behemoth, Illithid's, Jake's, and Mario's. The first two are because I know them personally, and the second two are from the podcasts.

Jake's voice... wow. Don't get me wrong, I'm not gay, but for that voice... I could be.

Was it actually the theme from Battlestar Galactica, or was it the theme from Ron Moore's Spaceship Show? If it's the former, I'd be interested in hearing how "Rudy Can't Fail" fits into that. If it's the latter, then how the hell did you even find anything to put lyrics to? It's just drums and people going "Ha!"

When I have trouble sleeping, I imagine Jake singing me a lullaby.
  • edited April 2008
We just decided that "Rudie Can't Fail" is the actual theme song to the show. It matches up fairly well to the intro video. "The Guns of Brixton" is the "someone dies in Battlestar Galactica" theme song, just because we say so.

I am merely using the beard as a win repository, so that I can keep them fresh for the future.

Also, Serephel you should have heard my voice as well. I made a podcast ages ago.

I haven't listened to all the podcasts. I am a late at adapting to new technology sometimes, and I only finally got an iPod two months ago. Before that I had a Sony Walkman mp3 player I bought in Japan. It died off, because Sony tried to compete directly against iTunes, and they kept getting in arguments between their Japanese and American offices.

Which podcast was yours? It's a proven scientific fact that the longer beard you have, the sexier your voice is.

You don't need an ipod to listen to podcasts. I listen to them and have no such device.
  • edited April 2008
    Your strange logic baffles me!
  • edited April 2008
I have an iRiver, which means that I can listen to podcasts in Ogg Vorbis format.

At least, I could if there were any. :(
  • edited April 2008
But... Ogg Vorbis sucks and blows! Just because something's open source doesn't mean it's worth its weight in sand.
  • edited April 2008
He's right. FLAC for the win!
  • edited April 2008
FLAC is good for lossless compression, but if you want to crunch things down more than that Vorbis pwns MP3.
  • edited April 2008
Advanced Audio Codec for the gold. Great compression, good high-end range quality, compatibility with MP3 players people actually care about. It's what's used in Blu-Ray discs and is generally accepted as the industry standard for next-generation audio codecs. Ogg Vorbis and FLAC will never gain mainstream appeal, so I really don't see the point in supporting them.

Episode 4 is my one. The beard was pretty long back then.
  • edited April 2008
I'll listen to it when I get home. I'll bet I can hear how long your beard is.

Oh no, of course it won't, but I just like using it for my own private collection, like when I hook my macbook up to a decent set of speakers, the quality is lovely, and what with the plugin for playing them in iTunes, well, you can colour me satisfied :)
