I feel like if I haven't mentioned Team Fortress 2, it belongs here for me. I tried it and...I just could not bring myself to care about it. I thought of this because I saw Blizzard's new Overwatch thing and it looked so much like another take on TF2 or a couple of other similar games and my I just immediately stopped caring. I've learned these are games I simply don't like.
I think I really need levels and skills and gear and stats for my brain to play with or I will get bored. I don't play games to play I play them to analyze systems and plan out optimized builds and such.
TF2 was the same for me. And Assassin's Creed. I thought it was cool, but the girlfriend gave me all the plot points via text message, so I didn't feel the need to play through them anymore.
The problem with the Ass Creed plot is that it's pretty much only cool in context. Someone gives you a summary of the plot outside of the context of the game and it's totally ridiculous. That shouldn't be the case, even for sci-fi.
