Don't order the Rahmschintzel. It's too much.

I absolutely love mangoes! They have a tangy-tropical taste and go well in salsas!

I also enjoy a good anime. I thought Spirited Away was an interesting film with colorful characters. I also liked FLCL. FLCL had fluid animation and cool Japanese band music. I actually don’t even watch that much anime though, to tell you the truth. I think some of my friends are more into it than I ever will be. However, the latest anime I’ve seen was truly fun to watch.

    Paniponi Dash!

I wasn’t much into it at first, but then I watched five or six episodes in a row and became hooked! The dubbing is really well done and the characters are hilarious. Maho!

I studied Japanese for many years, lived there collectively over a year, and became not entirely shitty in spoken and written language without any interest whatsoever in manga or anime. Needless to say I did not share a lot of common ground with the university Japanese club and such.

I almost got into anime in high school, but then I saw Evangelion.

Edit: But you know what I did love in Japan? Mangoes. My host mother occasionally served them.

I generally dislike manga and anime just because most of it seems so cookie-cutter. Plus I'm a bit miffed that the manga section in book stores keeps getting bigger and pushing out the American/European section. Not that I'm a huge fan of most of those books either, but the good stuff is generally pushed out to make room for the latest Superman alternate reality omnibus.

But you know what anime is awesome? LOVE HINA.

    ...........BOOBIES!

    I like graphic novels.

Bacon doesn't go well with cereal?

I liked The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. That was... interesting.

I didn't really care for it that much. I don't see why so many people like it.

Oh, hey, people agree with me. Huh. That's pretty nice.
You'll all hate me, but I disagree with your praise of Spirited Away. Studio Ghibli is amazing, but Spirited Away just seems like a bunch of random nonsense. I realize that it's most likely just because of my own ignorance of their culture, but I still can't really get into it like everyone else seems to.

I really should get around to watching Spirited Away. I loved Princess Mononoke and Castle in the Sky, I just always forget about it.

I've noticed with anime that the best series' last at most two seasons, often just one. Once you go beyond that, it's all flashbacks, internal monologues, and adding more and more characters until you can't even remember half of their names.

I think Spirited Away makes more sense if you know more about Shinto. But I could be wrong since I don't know much about Shinto.

I'm pretty happy. The 7th volume of Rosario Vampire came out recently. I read it Friday when I went to my local bookstore and it was pretty good. The 6th volume still the best one so far, because the main protaganist, Tsukune become a ghoul and beats a group of monstrels to death.( He then is given a holy lock after waking in a hospital when Moka nearly kills him.) The 7th volume has Tsukune learning to control himself while maintaining his humanity.

That series has almost enough fanservice to rival Love Hina. I seem to remeber the anime being even more so.

I remember a time when vampires used to be scary fuckers who violently killed people...

I think I might be enraged by the word, "monstrel".

    Yeah, that's infuriating.

Its obviously a monster that travels the land, playing the lute and singing ballads.

    A troubadour monster? Sounds cool.

You're thinking of a siren. Monstrels are creatures that can turn any part of their body in to any kind of weapon at any time.

I have ADD when it comes to Manga and Anime. I can only watch/read so much before I move on. Death Note was the only Manga/Anime that I managed to stay interested in for a measureable amount of time.
That being said Anime is cool stuff. Its got a very different feel than other forms of media. Very unique.

Spirited Away has little coal people who eat flowery sprinkle things. Of course I love it! I have yet to see a Miyazaki film I didn't enjoy.

    Also, check this out: Ninjai.

Anyone a fan of To Love Ru? I discovered on the website One Manga. It is a japanese manga. What I mean by japanese manga is you aren't gonna find it at your local bookstore unless you live in Japan or if you search for it on One Manga. It's pretty good.
