A day to rival All-Caps Day

edited July 18 in Events
I'd just like to remind everybody that September 19th is Talk Like A Pirate day. To help everybody prepare, I point you to this helpful video guide.

Now I'm off to get my timbers ready for a day of shivering.

All that says is All-Caps Day 2005. I was hoping to get the actual date off of that.

But ar, I be ready to talk like a pirate, matey.

I believe All-Caps Day is the second Wednesday of November, this year it's November 8th.

Oh yeah, the post-apocolyptic OB hasn't had an ALL-CAPS day yet.

Talk like a pirate day is gonna be fun, but now I want to organize a zombie walk through torrington.
  • edited September 2006
So, the pirates talk the talk and the zombies walk the walk, but what do ninjas do?

    Stalk the stalk?

ALL-CAPS DAY is in the forum calendar events, in case you ever forget the date. It will appear at the bottom of the forum front page when the day comes. But yes, second Wednesday of November.

I'm not sure how much pirate-talking I'll be able to pull off on a workday, but I'll surely be doin' me best, says I.

MAN! You all just reminded me of Shakespeare day at Taco bell. Like, 2-3 years ago, I went to taco Bell and I heard them talkinf to the lady in front of me and saying stuff al wierd. Then when I got to the ordering spot they said, Ay, welcome to Shakespear week at Taco bell What can I get for thee? And I was like, "OK" and I can't remeber what i said next, but the guys couldn't keep a straight face when i picked up my food...........I don't think Taco Bell has a Shakespeare week.

Pirate Sighting: I'm on campus doing some research. About five yards ahead of me is this guy in pirate garb handing out flyers to unsuspecting students. Initially I thought it was about Talk Like A Pirate Day, but nay-- he is in fact proselytizing for the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

Yarrr, that does be a fine story, but ye fail to speak with the proper accents.

I have a no-pirate rule in my household. I can't be the one to break it--what sort of example would I set?

Arrr, a no pirate rule? What be ye, a ninja supporter?
  • edited September 2006
No ninjas, no pirates. This joint is strictly for samurai.

Despite my whole-hearted endorsal of Talk Like A Pirate Day, I must, on some level, agree with Stef. Samurais rock the hardest.

But we must cease this childish in-fighting and band together, for the space robot invasion is nigh!

    What about Irish cowboys?
  • edited September 2006
They suck, and should be hated forever.

Unless they're Irish space cowboys. That's different.
