It wasn't a terribly rockin' solo though. If you can't get ahold of the CD, the song also appears in full in Donkey Konga.

The solo could've been longer, but it was enough to warrant placement in my playlist. Then again, it doesn't take much for that to happen. If there's, like, five seconds that I really like in a song, and the rest of the song isn't completely bad, then I'll usually keep it.

What the hell sort of backwards alternate universe storyline is that?

I believe you meant to post this Sonic the Hedgehog intro, as in the only real Sonic the Hedgehog intro.

And as far as memorable TV show theme music goes, White Ranger Tiger Power is probably one of my favorites.

But back to the topic at hand. The lack of guitar solos everywhere really does make me worry about the future of our society.

I think the chipmunk got more screen time than Sonic did in that intro.

I know it doesn't have a rockin' guitar solo, but no other cartoon theme song brings a nostalgic tear to my eye like this one.

That abomination would be Sonic Underground

You bastards! You made me go look for 90s cartoon theme songs, and I found this. Now you all have to watch it with me!

Fuck there's a pentagram in Count Duckula.. I'm amazed people in the US didn't riot until the show got cancelled!

EDIT: HALF AN HOUR OF 90'S ANIMATED SHOWS' THEME SONGS? I love you Mario. And hate you, you single-handledly caused me to get distracted enough to not finish my homework.

DOUBLE EDIT: Ugh, Dark Water. I hated that.

Yeah, I just watched all that. I learned a lot, too! Like how there was a Bill & Ted and Dragon Warrior cartoon, and no one told me. Thanks, Internet.

I remember Pinky and Brain, I watched that show all the time!!!

I also remember Freakazoid, but it wasn't my favorite.

And that Mighty Max thing looks pretty cool.

I remember Batman Beyond too, that show was awesome.

On a final note, Bill and Tedd's excellent adventures looks like Dr. Who... but absolutely horrible in every way.

It's not like Doctor Who at all! Well maybe the cartoon was, I never saw it. But the movie was awesome and also not like Doctor Who.

Am I suddenly old? I'm not even twenty yet! I remember almost every single show from that video, except for three or four. I think Samurai Pizza Cats is from the 80s, though. Anyway, it was one awesome show.

I think it is fitting that that video had the 1000th post

    Fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff- I just noticed that.

Dark Water was great! I downloaded and rewatched it in college. Granted, it was still a kid's show and had some kiddy-elements that must exist, but overall I liked it.

Mighty Max is also great, I just finished watching the entire series last week. The story and concept are pretty cool, and the show was kind of dark for a kids show. People died and stuff. It also had Tim Curry and motherfuckin Tony Jay.

Freakazoid was also pretty fun, although sometimes the wackiness was a little too much for me.

My question though is, what the hell was Samurai Pizza Cats? I must have missed that one.

Damnit people, what about all the classic British cartoons which make up my fond nostalgia trips?! We never talk about them :(
  • edited August 2008
That's because they're boring and smell funny.

OR we've never seen hide nor hair of them. Ringo was in Shining Time Station, does that count?

Basically, an American company got the rights to the animation from a Japanese cartoon, but not the story or the script. They then proceeded to improvise all new dialogue, completely unrelated to the original Japanese version, to go with the visuals. The results were awesome.

    Sounds potentially amazing.

Apparantly, I watched it a lot when I was little, but have no memory of it.

    Color me intrigued!

Samurai Pizza Cats was my favorite show when I was a kid. I have at least seen all of those shows on there. There were only 3 or 4 that I didn't watch at least semi-regularly.

I used to watch the following in the mornings before school only because it came on right before Samurai Pizza Cats. Here you go, Bruce:
