I enjoy talking to Bruce over a webcam! I haven't in a while though...

    BRUCE this needs to happen!

Well if you would come on aol or msn, I would!
  • edited April 2010
... does the Mac version of msn allow for video chats? Ryan and I always use Skype whenever we do a webcam talk.

Also; Roberto! You should get a webcam at some point. We should have a group video chat

It does now, there's a beta out which is pretty buggy, but supports webcam beautifully.

Anyway, get your butt on iChat, I'm there now!

HOLY SHIT. Rob, speaking of you getting a webcam... remember that phone call in the middle of the night a few weeks ago? My mom just sent me an angry email telling me that ended up costing 50 bucks.

Whoops... I could have sworn I checked the rate before I called you back, definitely must have looked at the wrong thing. No more drunk love calls in the middle of the night from now on D:

    Double post ftw.....

I locked myself in my room for like 12 hours today finishing an essay... and it ended up being 13 pages.... procrastination for the win.

I only took a FEW cigarette breaks.... my dad called me up today to tell me to stop smoking. It was a 4 minute convo. It was hilarious.

Dude I am tanked. I'm savin it for the love sweet love thread though. It's comin. It will be EPIC

I am in my new apartment! I have way more shit than I thought I did, so it's going to take me some time to unpack. But I have internet here, so yay!
  • edited May 2010
That's all you need to be happy!!

Well, internet and a computer connected to the internet. And a keyboard. A monitor would be nice too. ...That pretty much covers it.
  • edited May 2010
Maybe a mouse? Though I guess you don't NEED a mouse, they help though.

Whoah. I thought you said the last one wasn't THAT expensive... That sucks.

I brought my kitty back to Austin with me :)

She's currently hiding under my bed in my room, but I had expected that. Hopefully she'll come out in a few days and socialize

After 3-4 weeks waiting for them on backorder my Vibram Five Fingers are finally here!

They look creepy yet comfortable. How do they feel?
  • edited May 2010
Well, they feel like you barefoot but with a bit of protection. Having you toes separated is strange at first (a lot like toe socks if you wear them) but after a bit it is really comfortable. I have only gone for one walk in them so far, which felt good. I was a bit sore in my feet muscles and surrounding areas. I have read it can take a while for your feet muscles to get used to them unless you are used to walking or running barefoot. I did try driving with them which took a while to get used to, but after I got the hang of it I felt like I had a lot more control compared to if I where wearing a stiff shoe with a thick sole.

So overall I like the feel a lot. I do have a pair of thin toe sock to go with them so I’ll have to give those a try tomorrow and see how it feels.

Yeah, I'd worry about the feet muscles. I hate walking around barefoot, I always need some sort of protection on the soles of my feet. I know that these weird 'shoes' offer them, but I would worry it's not enough.

I've seen those and they look good. I like running around barefoot. I can't wear things with toes because I have webbed feet.:(

I am barefoot with some frequency. Actually the bottoms of my feet are quite firm from not wearing shoes very much. Such footwear is interesting.

I bought my first pair of Vibram fivefingers (KSO) in March, and I LOVE them. I'm going to run a 10km in them next weekend. They love rain! and mud! and everything! I wish to buy the sexy girly kangaroo leather ones but would have to order online and am currently in a men's pair, booo.

The first time on, the shoes wanted to run. So I did. and then I was sore for a week. I felt like I was flying. I mean, they move so fast, yet so slow, because you're taking shorter strides, and I feel so light! My legs are used to them now. I suspect they're sorting out my hammer toe for me too.

I wish I could wear them every day, everywhere. But I can't, so I looked into vivo barefoot, which are normal looking shoes that suggest a barefoot feel. We'll see once my first pair arrives!

And Ryan, did you notice how on Japanese TV, when people wore their shoes into the house (running back for a forgotten item), they did so by saying "I'm an American! I'm an American!" as they ran through the house. [It freaks me out when people on TV wear their shoes in the house.]

I am very creeped out by people wearing their shoes in a home, but that's because in China the outside is covered with spit and pee. Public urination has no taboo in China (for men, at least), or it's so small that people don't generally give a shit. And hawking and spitting is very common, I even see old ladies doing it.

So wearing shoes indoors means tracking various bodily fluids inside too. That may be partially why these shoes and their barefoot vibe creep me out.

They creep me out because they... look like bare feet. That's just weird.

Carlo and I are flying up to Seattle for the weekend! The main focus of our trip will be to attend w00tstock v2.0. Excitement and success!

On that note: anyone have any recommendations for stuff to do in Seattle? I've gotten a few restaurant suggestions but was hoping my Belt peeps could give some insight as well. Preemptive thanks!

You could stop by the Penny Arcade offices and worship the ground upon which they walk. Besides that, I dunno. Get Starbucks?

A friend of mine just preserved the idea of where my life is going inadvertently. SO AWESOME.

If it was me I'd go see my uncle who lives around there. I've been there once before but that was MANY years ago. I know nothing, but may be able to ask.
  • edited May 2010
If I was in Seattle, I'd start a grunge band.
  • edited May 2010
You should visit X'o'Lore's uncle. That wouldn't be weird at all!
  • edited May 2010
I think I also have another uncle that may live relatively near Mario's home too. Yeah, totally not weird at all...
