Me and my brothers used to rent the SNES one all the time. It was awesome, says my nostalgia.
Also, even though I hated and tended to be practically asleep during morning classes, for some reason I tended to get better grades on them than I did in evening classes.
Woo! I am in the US now! I haven't posted much since getting here two days ago, but that's partially because I've been really busy and because Adam is a dickpiece who keeps logging me out of the OB so I can't see recent posts. AMERICA FUCK YEAH
I have a new summer internship! Starting Monday, I will be a troubleshooter for a non-profit support company for international humanitarian efforts. In other word, tech support for missionaries.
Back in China now. I had the best possible run getting out of the airport. I hurried off the plane and got ahead of most other people at the customs line, narrowly beating another arriving plane at the same time. Then when I got through customs, my luggage was among the first to come out, and it came out while I was walking towards it. I literally spent less than a minute at baggage claim. Then I walked to the other end of the airport and caught a shuttle bus to Hangzhou just minutes before it left (they go every two hours). And finally when I got into town, I walked to my bus stop and just caught that one too as I walked up too, and that runs every 20 minutes.
It was a perfect game. I got off the plane and on a bus back into town in less than 40 minutes (a new record). Yay.
But, the flight there wasn't exactly perfect. We had a shit-ton of turbulence, the kind where you need to hold your drinks in the air or they'll make a mess. And, the guy next to me had some epic farts the entire flight. Normally I would have been irritated, but this was probably karmic payback for my flight to the US.
Truly epic farts lead to an odd combination of being impressed and awed and being outright disgusted. Usually the disgust wins out, especially while it's fresh.
As some of you might know, I am currently working with a criminal lawyer (that is, he practices criminal law, he's not a lawyer who is a criminal). Today he sent me on a mission: go to JAIL and talk with two clients and get them to sign some stuff.
I went, entered, did what had to be done and got out without harm to my physical integrity. I consider it a huge success.
That's my arm with two stamps on it. THAT'S HOW THEY DIFFERENTIATE YOU FROM THE INMATES AND KNOW THAT YOU CAN BE LET OUT.
Reminds me of a story my dad told me. Back in the 70s he was working at an insane asylum for some reason. On his first day on the job, one of the first people he ran into was one of his buddies from high school. My dad asked him what he was doing there, and the guy was like "Mike, you gotta help me. I had a bad trip and they put me in here, and now they won't believe I'm not crazy!" My dad was so creeped out about that that he quit the next day. Some time later the guy managed to escape, and by the time they found him he already had a normal house with a normal family and a normal job, so they had to let him go.
Got my Eagle Scout Award last Sunday. I'm still debating whether to classify this as a major success or a major failure...depends on how much I decide I hate the Boy Scouts I guess...
Ever played before, NoLonger? Or is this your first guitar?
First guitar, but I have experience with piano and I'm pretty good at violin, so I'm picking it up fairly quickly. Got a keyboard a while back too, as well as some recording equipment, so I'm set for a while; as soon as I've gotten all the instruments worked out anyways. Great fun though, I'm really loving it.
I'm hoping my roommate will bring back her acoustic guitar from Dallas after this weekend; ever since I started dating Greg a few months back I've been messing around with his guitar, and I'm really interested in getting better at it. His dad has been playing for years and he's really good, so he's been teaching me a few little tricks... I can only get so much practice in when I'm visiting though. I'd like to just sit by myself for a few hours and get some good practice time in.
I'm driving to Anaheim today so we can go to Disneyland tomorrow! The main purpose of our trip is to ride Star Tours before it's gone forever, so it's a little bittersweet, but still, Disneyland!

Morning classes are the devil.
Seriously, we need to meet up at some point
Also, feeling like I have time to devote to the forum community I know and love. It's a good feeling. Missed you guys!

What happens if an inmate swabs your arm with a wet cloth and wipes the stamps off?
Also, Firefox says "creeped" isn't a word.
