I have a tentative offer for a programming job in South Dakota.

It's almost like I'm actually an adult!

Congratulations! Soon enough you'll be facing soul-crushing reality like an ADULT.

I have been trying for a job for three years.

In the last month I have got two. As a writer for a tech blog and an on site apprentice computer engineer working towards Microsoft certification.

That's awesome Bruce! Congrats! I hope you have all sorts of success in rolling in the dough now.

That tentative job offer is now official! I'm putting my college degree to good use, meaning I'm already 17 steps ahead of English and Liberal Arts majors.

A friend of mine is hosting the Mario Olympics in March. It consists of spending the weekend playing various old school mario/nintendo games in a vague tournament manner.

They will involve gems such as Mario Kart 64, Super Smash Bros. Melee (WITH ALL ITEMS ON, GODDAMNIT!), Bomberman 2, etc.

In fact, here's the whole list of games.

Counts as a success to be attending to me...

All the items? Even the Starman? I hate the Starman...

    All items.

My friends to something like that, but with all kinds of games. They call it the LAN Olympics.

Wait, I thought the Mario Olympics just meant playing all of those Mario and Sonic at [location] Wii games.

You are wrong and I want you to go to your room and think about what you've done.

My new apartment is within walking distance of a liquor store.
  • edited April 2012
Why, that sounds incredible! You will never be too drunk to not make a trip to the liquor store ever again!

Guess which cool dude has their first ever dual monitor setup?

    This cool dude.

Still getting used to having so much space, so at times my second screen becomes a glorified Youtube TV, but all my photoshop/illustrator tools on a second screen is awesome.

I wish I had that kinda desk space.

I coulda used a third monitor easily back when I used Flash a lot. These days the extra screen is mostly for IM/Steam/Skype friend lists and convos with the occasional browser window.

But congrats. You'll never go back.

Remedy for the lack of desk space; use your "Study" TV as your second monitor. (It will generally have quite a bit lower res than a monitor though.)
