Oh wait. I'm gonna have to agree with Adam here. A high chicks to dudes ratio and privacy issues means that if you aquire privacy you're golden.

I get to go to Iowa for a few days to do some work and generally be offline. I'm sure it'll be super exciting and I totally won't die from internet withdrawals.

Oh yeah, totally. If there was ever a place t0 go that's more interesting than the intewebs, it's Iowa. I mean, we even have one OBer from that sh... wonderful country. i'm sure he'd be thrilled to tell you all about the many, many activities available there.

I like that Iowa is a country, apparently.

Every state is its own country. See also: most major cities.

But, with the exception of DC, all the major American cities are within the states. So they're countries within countries within countries?

    I'm a country.

Don't buy it. Check my profile. My "Occupation" is Norway and has been for some time. I'm all about being a country.

ETA: Oh yeah. I'm back. Iowa was...Iowa.

Country, as in the land. Out in the country. "Beautiful country out there.", that type of thing.

So I've been getting setup to go back to school. A bachelors in IT or some such thing. Normally a 4-year thing, but I got a bunch of stuff done already and can do it in about 2 years. Either way one of the classes they want me to take is going to be one involving learning how to build a computer. I'm kinda torn in a way. On one hand, I like building computers. On the other hand, it would be idiotic for me to be taking such a class so I'm just going to test out of it (and hopefully some other classes too). Then I won't have to waste time and money to pay people to tell me things I may know more about than they do.

Seriously, I'm not sure what an entire class based on that subject would teach you that wasn't extremely basic; it sounds like framing for "what is a processor"/"what is RAM"-type discussions.
  • edited July 2012
Based on my experience in a similar class in high school? It is.

But who knows, it could be something entirely different. College and all.

I did applied ICT at school, which was sold as being practical ICT, hardware and software.

Two years of VB apps in microsoft access.

For the record I was informed they don't have a test-out option for that class. So now I'm just going to have an easy class.

My dad suffered his third heart attack earlier this week. He's been discharged from hospital now, but has been prescribed viagra to thin his blood.

Needless to say, I'm not using their bathroom sink at any point in the near future.

That was pretty awesome. The roadkill thing, not the heart attack thing. A third heart attack is sorta scary.

Hahahaha, jerks, intentionally running over animals is not cool! Plus it gets your car all bloody.

Implying that the first and second heart attacks were totally fine. /Awful joke

Edit: Shit! I just got ninja'd... on the Orange Belt! The crap?

Edit 2: Well I guess like, not really, he didn't steal my awful joke... but whatever! I had to add a quote! It took effort!

    This is for Adam.

    What Jeff Killed
  • edited August 2012
Not for me? It makes me feel like a kid again, except it was usually chipmunks rather than mice.
  • edited August 2012
    awwwwwwwwww, kitty.
  • edited August 2012
You used to kill chipmunks for fun? :/
  • edited August 2012
I never killed chipmunks. That would've been the cats. And "fun" is not really an accurate word to describe walking outside and finding dead rodents laying about sometimes.

My own close encounter with a chipmunk ended with it biting my finger and me wiffling my arm about trying to shake it off.

    "Wiffling?"
  • edited August 2012
Ok, maybe the word I was trying to type was "whiffling" which isn't a completely accurate word still, but the idea I'm trying to convey rapid waving of the arm.
  • edited August 2012
    Flailing?

    Waffling?

That sounds tasty as words go. Not the right word at all, but a fun word.
