I think I'm actually done with my quarter at school now. What am I even gonna do with myself? Oh yeah. Going to Florida.
Also my college is switching to e-books at the end of the year I think. iPads. They better not force an iPad on me. I really would rather chose my own tablet. Preferably one with an x86 processor and Windows. But not Windows RT because fuck Windows RT.
Harpseel is a liar. The Dragon coaster is pretty neato. Arguably better than the Hulk, but I can agree that the RipRide wins. Except the secret thing didn't work. Actually the screen didn't work at all and I was completely unable to select anything. I think it was froze up or broken or something.
And Harry Potter World didn't really impress me except for the dragon coaster, but I've never really been a Potter fan. Well I guess the Castle ride was good too, but the line is pretty blasted long on that one.
Well, the article is old, almost 4 years. Worked for me two years ago. Probs should have added a disclaimer for that...
Stand by the dragon coaster thing. Having been to Universal as many times as I have, the interaction is kind of gimmicky and the coasters don't have much lasting appeal, which is topped off by their lack of length really starting to show through for me.
It might also be because I am a HUGE fan of The Hulk Rollercoaster.
Soooo if anyone else follows Prequel Adventure, they posted a little chase minigame thing here.
I managed to do it in 69 seconds a couple times which I figure is a most excellent time, but really I think it's just the music track with it that sells the whole thing and I kinda play it just to listen to the music track as much as anything.
I think the prizes were buttons or something simple? I hit 70 when I first saw it, but I didn't even know there was any kind of prize so I have no idea if I could have had any chance. No matter though.
I think it would be possible to hit 68, but I suspect that'd be as fast as it can be done. Getting 69 already takes a near perfect run.
A beverage company recently conducted a nationwide "honesty test" by placing unmanned kiosks all over the country, packed with bottles of tea and requesting that people use the honor system to leave $1 for every drink they took.
The nationwide average was 92% of people paying, and the worst state was New York at 91%. Every single person from Alabama and Hawaii paid for their drinks.
The worst individual location was Washington, D.C., where 80% of people paid for their drinks, and somebody stole the company founder's bike.
Double post: It's probably because I've seen Pacific Rim AND read all the past strips but I keep looking back at this comic and keep laughing every time I read it.
So for the past...4 years I think? My school has been hosting some "Trunk or Treat" event around Halloween time where a bunch of people decorate the trunks of cars and such in the school parking lot, and crowds of people bring there kids there and the go from car to car basically trick-or-treating. For the second year I've ended up involved in this shindig somehow.
I dressed as a cardboard box "robot" along side another guy. Some kids thought I was a Minecraft guy I guess? Maybe our IT group should have done a Minecraft theme. Apparently little kids like Minecraft. Many liked the robot costumes. As well they should because it turns out stuffing yourself in cardboard boxes for a few hours is quite uncomfortable.
I got a random IM over AOL just now that appeared to be trying to sell me car insurance. I remember when unsolicited advertisements like this more closely resembled email spam of old. It was all porn, pills, and penis enlargement for everyone. Even if they didn't even have a penis.
I don't have particular thoughts on this. It just seemed like weird, spammy things are something that's often lacking in my current everyday life so when I DO get it, it's actually kind of jarring and reminds me of the earlier days of email.

(P.S. I proposed a new avatar of the month in the Avatar of the Month thread. I know most of you post little to never anymore, but think on it. :jt:)
