SNES was superior, games-wise! Graphically too. And it had Star wing!

    I said away with thee!

I like N64. Good racing games, plus Goldeneye and Mario 64, and the original Smash Bros.

But it had Quest 64. God I hated that game so much

It also had the much loved game, Orcarina of Time, a fan favourite. Plus, Super Mario 64. IN YO FACE, YA'LL!!:p

    Exactly.

    First: Next Gen (Wii)
    Second: 16 bit (SNES)
    Third: 8 Bit (NES)

You read my mind (in terms of superior games).

i liked quest 64. but, i have to rank the N64 near the bottom, only because whenever i go and play games for it, i hate how its 3-D, but its crappy 3-D. although, it DID have tonic trouble, which is still one of my favorite games

N64's graphics are way better than NES. And the DS, for that matter. Have you SEEN the commercial for New Super Mario World? Crappier than what happens after eating a truck load of prunes and beans. I know, didn't need to hear that.:D

I think there should be a forum on STUFF! about video games. In fact, I'm making it when I'm done this post.

You can't judge an era on graphics.

The pre-nes era (aka Atari 2600) had awful graphics, yet the games were (mostly) fun.

    Except E.T.

DS graphics are better than the N64 graphics. Just compare versions of Super Mario 64.

That's what I was just doing!

I was assumed you meant the newest Mario for the DS. With the giant mushroom and all. That game is kick-ass. Even better than Super Mario World for the Snes.

New Super Mario Bros? Not played it, but it looks fun. I like games that are essentially 2D, but with 3D graphics.

Like a lot of 2D games sucked during the 3D transition, but they should've kept the 2d layout, but used polygonal models.

Remember Yoshi Story? That game would've been good, if it had more than four levels at a time...

I don't think it was released in Europe. Nintendo didn't have much control over it then, a third party company controlled distribution in Europe until about 2000.

I liked Yoshi's story, except it was annoyingly cute.

Yep. Mega Man X8 is another perfect example, as are the two remakes of the first X and Classic games for the PSP.

Ultimate Spiderman on the DS would be a bad example, though.

For the Wii, they should make a new version of Adventure Of Link, in 3d where you use the remote to jump, crouch etc, while using the nun chuck to go left and right. Still with a side on perspective, but in 3D. And the world view bits can be real time 3D.

That'd be fun to the max!

They should finally make a sequel to Body Harvest, too.

I do believe it was released in Europe, I'm pretty sure I saw it on sale here and also various places in France whilst I was on holiday there.

I think they should make a game on the DS about Bub. Ya know, a new edition of Bubble Bobble to give these darned youngsters a taste of the 1990's. The "darned youngsters" part must sound retarted coming from an 11 year old.

It's called the Virtual Console; available only on Nintendo Wii. ;)

I've got a nice list of old school games I'm told I need to check out for when Wii gets here.

Not to mention that Bubble Bobble Revolution is due out in America any time now.

I coulda sworn I was playing Bubble Bobble back in the 80's. Oh well, must just be my oldness screwing with my memory.
  • edited June 2006
Could be the 80's. I just guessed when it came out because I figured the dreamcast came out in the 90's. But it was on the NES too, wasn't it?

Damn kids. Just assume everything you've ever played is a re-make.

Bub sure is butt-ugly on that picture X'o' Lore showed me.

I'm, uh, I'm gonna interrupt this conversion for a (gasp) comic-related question.

Where'd the name "Miscreant" come from? I'm not sure if it was in one of the comics. It just seemed to pop up in the forums. Anybody got some insight? Or a link to an archive comic showing that I'm wrong?
  • edited June 2006
It appeared in comic 200 I believe.
