Episode 281: Give 'Im Boot To Da Head

I always enjoy having an excuse to make new sprites for a comic. I'll update the Sheik sprite sheet to reflect the addition of the Jumpkick and Dart Throw poses, when I have the chance.

YES! First comment. Good show on the comic!

After her pathetic display when fighting Llyod, that was quite the surprise. Great scene, though.

Oh, and since I seem to be Mr. Font now... Shiek is talking with Link's font in the 7th panel. I think that's the only nitpicking for anyone to do though, so hurray!

Kicks to the back of the head: Dishonourable yet hilarious.
  • edited July 2006
Only dishonorbale if you come from behind them. If you start from the front, all back-techniques are fair-game.
  • edited July 2006
Yeah, if you run around behind them and they leave themself open for you to do this. But how much honor is there in quickly poofing behind them and catching them just unawares as a sneak attack?

I have also just noticed that I've been spelling Sheik wrong. Hope it doesn't screw up whatever purpose transcribing those two comics I did serves.

I think this has been the best one in a while. Possiblly the smash bros. moves or the fact that I laughed hysterically thoughout reading the entire thing. I think it's the second one, though.

I'm not a big fan of the orange smoke. I've always seen Sheik as more of a blue, or purple smoke kinda person. The motion lines and blurs were cool looking though. And "Headkick!" is a great new sound effect.
  • edited July 2006
The orange smoke was lifted directly from Super Smash Bros. Melee, as are most of Sheik's abilities in Zelda Comic. I just calls 'em like I sees 'em.

mjc0961, your misspelling of "Sheik" negates any grammatical or technical corrections you make on my comic for all time. Please don't be "Mr. Font" anymore. It's really annoying.

When ever I hear (Or in this case, see.) the words "Super Smash Bros." I orgasm with joy.
  • edited July 2006
Its too bad you cant really use them as that good of a distraction in Super Smash Bros. As Sheik's recovery time from using that movie is fairly slow.

    Good comic Mario. *applause*
  • edited July 2006
They make good distractions as a midair attack, which has less recovery time. Especially if you charge up the maximum strength 5-dart version, then hit the shield button so you can move around and attack normally, then hit the B button whenever you want to let them out.

Alrighty. Not that I really cared about what font Sheik used to say one word anyway.

I wonder how Ganondorf is doing right about now. Will he attack Sheik from behind with a headkick of his own?

An update from Zelda Comic AND Homestar Runner?! On the same day?!
  • edited July 2006
I don't see any update from homestar. what are you talking about???

EDIT: Never mind, I just didn't see anything on the main page.
  • edited July 2006
Why didn't they put that on the main page?!

That's really off-topic and we shall stop speaking of it at once.

Link should really wear a helmet or something.

And, by the looks of it, a cup.

Although Zelda Comic is shown in a 2D side on perspective, wouldn't it be safe to assume that the comic "world", does in fact have depth. If so, why did link not merely shift himself about 30cm to the right/left?

'Cause he didn't bring his ruler.

Because then he would have been out of the way and it wouldn't have been as funny.
  • edited July 2006
    Well-stated!
  • edited July 2006
Indeed. Plus, under that logic, why doesn't everybody in this real 3-D world just always side-step instead of getting hit with things; like cars, rhinos, elephants, wild dogs, bullets, etc.?
  • edited July 2006
Wild dogs? They bite, dont they?
  • edited July 2006
Well, they can't bite so well when they are flying at 80km/s out of my new "Wild Dog Cannon 3000"! Please, don't call PETA.

finly link is back only yo get totaly morderised he has gone thru a lot sheik thro him into the badiys then he got hit by horsehead then got zappped by the misckrint and what just hapind now...I hope he has a fariy.
  • edited July 2006
    wha..?
  • edited July 2006
I think the most surprising part of that post was, it was all one sentence.
  • edited July 2006
    only yo get totaly morderised

I could just about translate the rest of it, but what the hell does morderised mean?!
  • edited July 2006
Morderised? I dunno, for I can't bring myself to stop laughing at "misckrint."

Good summation of Link's most recent beatings, though.

I think he ment moiderised, which is what some cartoon character used to say. Only he had an accent, so it would be "murderised", which was just his way of saying murdered.
