No, really? I thought he was explaining how to find the points of inflection of an equation through differential calculus.

But seriously, no one offered any opinions on how honorable or dishonorable Sheik's techinque of quickily warping behind the Miscreant and headkicking him unware was.

All's fair in duels. Besides, in 2D sidescrollers, line of sight has nothing to do with the ability to see your opponent. The only thing Sheik took advantage of was The Miscreant's being in the middle of a dart-blocking technique. He's simply using his natural abilities in combat (in this case, speed), as he would presumably expect The Miscreant to do. I see nothing dishonorable in this.

The Miscreant already did that to Gannondorf a couple of comics ago anyways. On a side note, whatever happened to Zelda? she was just lying on the floor talking to the Miscreant a couple of comics ago, and then she just dissapeared.

Zelda-Blooper can't move. You're probably just confused because The Miscreant can move, and the camera tends to move to where the action is.

Well, NPC such as the Miscreant play by rules differently than playable characters. What I mean is I can see enemies sneak up behind me and react accordingly, while I can sneak up behind enemies, (who cannot see behind them) and strike.

On the other hand, Link would be the playable character and both Shiek and the Miscreant would be NPCs and may very well be fair game to fight however they want. Except... bitting.

    They are all NPCs.

Well, the Miscreant at least got a nice Linkpillow to cushion his fall.

    In response to TheMachine:

I appologize for having nothing more to contribute than to repeat myself.

Hmm... That makes sense. And since The Miscreant is the bad guy... Go headkick!

In fact, after taking a closer look, it looks like The Miscreant was actually turning to try and blast her when she kicked him. So he'd have to be completely aware then. Huzzah!

(Yes, I know the character of Sheik is a male but we all know it's actually Zelda who is female and so I refer to Sheik with female pronouns so there's no confusion when I refer to The Miscreant with male pronouns.)

And since I refer to the characters as their current personas, I use the gender- and status-specific pronouns as they become appropriate. This also explains why I don't refer to The Miscreant by his true name.

    Which is...

    Ross Perot!
  • edited July 2006
I'll give you a hint: it's not Ross Perot. Or IS IT?!?!?

    No, it's not.
  • edited July 2006
    Or is it?!
  • edited July 2006
Well, we all saw that response coming.

    Or did we?!
  • edited July 2006
    I didn't. (Or did I?)

    Stopping. Now.

Who the hell is that first guy?
  • edited July 2006
Whoever he is, he wasn't in the comic, so I fail to see why the Ross Perot discussion is continuing in this thread. If you guys want to discuss who The Miscreant is, make a thread for it.

The first guy was that old seaman from Half Life 2: The Lost Coast.

Actually, I was already satisified with the "you don't want to ruin the mystery" reason for not calling The Miscreant by his real name, but if I needed a second reason, that would certainly suffice.

Haza (if thats how you spell it) link has returned but to no ones avail. I hate it when people insult sheiks needles they are a wonderful and mysteriious attack which can do about one damage per shot and have a pathetic range. Also people diss the whip which can be incredibly annoying if used right.
  • edited July 2006
It's spelt Huzzah, but any spelling is fine as long as it shows a look of extreme victory and happiness. Heh, anyways, Sheik is really good. I'll play as Zelda mainly to use Sheik most of the time. She's quick and has some really good melee attacks. Like Up+A in the air or on the ground is really good. Anyways, since I haven't said so, good comic.

    Less condescending plz.

Not to derail the thread, but welcome Ryoga. Go introduce yourself in the introduction thread. It can be found in the general discussion forum!

To get back on topic, I hope to see Shiek's chain whip thing!

Wow, newbie. You must play that a lot. By the way, it's "spelled", not "spelt". Correct your own spelling first, please.

    The irony is killing me.

I also concurr with Sheiks chain whip! We saw all of Zelda's moves, so we must see Sheiks.

Eh, I was just trying to be helpful, anyways, it's just slang, (not spelt, Huzzah) and yeah, i'm a newbie, thanks for the warm welcome. Anyways, yeah, Sheik is pretty badass, hopefully she'll get a chance before the Miscreant does something insane.
