You missed the usual four a week X box units, Night Lord.

I wish to be a hero to real gamers everywhere and slice a sword through games like Brain Age, Big Brain Acadamy, Sukodu...and all those other learning games! Silly Nintendo, learning games are for Leapfrog! (Which I thank God, don't own).

Brain Age and Big Brain Acadamy kick ass! They give you better reflexes and stuff so you can react to zombies in Resident Evil quicker. As for sudoku, go ahead.

Brain Age and BBA are both games just like any other. They just happen to have incredibly boring subject matter. In fact, since so many DS games are minigame collections, they really aren't that unusual at all. Think of them as WarioWare: Solved!!

I kind of like Brain Age.

Actually, if you did that, I'd take a sword and slice it though you. Brain Age rocks. If you don't like it, don't play it.

Real gamers play learning games too, dude. I do.

    Mario's Missing!
Man, if the Koopa Troopas and bosses in that game could actually hit you, it might qualify as a REAL game.

has it occured to anyone that the Wii is gonna be really awkward to play for some games, I mean games like the new Metroid and Red Steel will be sweet, but it's gonna be wierd to play Battalion Wars and ExciteTruck with the Wiimote and Nunchuk thing.

It just seems to me that every game for the Wii is gonna be like a GunCon game, or just feel competely awkward.

In Excite Truck you hold the controller sideways and use it as a steering wheel.

Or if you could die of dysentery.

    Like he said, really awkward.

No more awkward than the original NES controllers.

I don't think you were using your NES controller right. You mostly pushed buttons on that one.
  • edited September 2006
You still push buttons to, like, go and stuff. This'll be great for people like me who still lean into the turns in racing games.

Compared to the joysticks that preceded it, the NES controller was rather odd. Just because you've grown accustomed to something doesn't mean that it is correct, normal, or even preferable. It certainly doesn't automatically put everything else in the category of awkward, you'll get used to it, just as you did all the other controllers before it.

    okay, sorry, JEEZ.

It's going to be perfect, and as natural as driving an EXCITE TRUCK with your mind. I know this with absolute certainty.

um..dude. Our hands will mold into a different form just to be able to use them!-ahem-but really, we'll all get used to em

The most awkward thing Nintendo ever produced was the Virtual Boy.
  • edited September 2006
I'm a real boy! ... Okay, bad pun.
it's gonna be wierd to play Battalion Wars with the Wiimote and Nunchuk thing.

Well, it can't be any worse than the Gamecube setup.

They have a design for a different controller that looks like a SNES controller with a pair of joysticks. Also, I think I remember hearing that you use a Gamecube controller for SSB:B, so that might apply to other games.
  • edited September 2006
Yeah, you use the GC controller for SSB:B. Which is good, because any other setup for SSB just wouldnt work for me. I mean, I can't even play the original anymore.

(although I will if the rumors of online Virtual Console games is true)

The GC controller is really the only one that works for Smash Bros.!

... *rather enjoyed the N64 game, in its day*

Same here, but the joysticks get so loose after a while that it borderlines on impossible to play.
  • edited October 2006
Yeah, I suppose I did wear out my controllers a bit. The GameCube joysticks were a lot tougher in that regard.

Mario Party is what did us ALL in.

    (Curse you, wind-up Shy-Guy!)

Forget the controllers, those games tore up my hands!

I think personally that the nunchuck and wiimote will work perfectly for ssb:b, if its used a bit like this:

    Nunchuck stick: Move
    Wiimote A: Main attack
    Wiimote B: Second attack
    Flick Wiimote up once: Jumo
Flick Wiimote up twice: Double jump
    Nunchuck back buttons: Shield
    Flick nunchuck to side: dodge

Now Zelda: TP, thats worrying me...
