I decree....A Sprite Comic Contest!!

edited October 2006 in Comics
As many other forum-goers have done before....I am starting a sprite comic contest. First, I'll need two (2) other judges to help me declare the winner (each round). Each round is given a topic to follow. Contest Number one has already finished. The winner was Mario. Contest Number two has already finished. The winner was Hlavco. So now for...

Round 3 F.T.W.!!

This round's topic is...Anime references! You can use any video game sprites, but it has to include a reference to anime. May I suggest doing this in the punchline? It can't be an anime based off a video game (pokemon...etc.) But it's okay if it HAS a video game.
######The Prize######

A nice computer drawn reward from me, Agentcel. A prize will go to 1st place.Happy Spriting!

My Sprite comics aren't that great... could I be a judge? :)
  • edited September 2006
As always, toad. Okay, that leaves room for one more judge...and entries may be posted at any time.

Considering you really didn't give a theme or anything to even give me a slight clue on what to make a comic about, I guess I'll help judge.

Ok great....Sorry- I will make a theme! Ok...Samus and Princess Peach walked into a bar when--good theme? bad theme? I'm just a man! (But thanks for helping things move along)

    What's it say?
  • edited September 2006
Blue: "So, what's the point of this one?"

Yellow: "I don't know at all! I don't know why I made this thing either?"[sic]

If I was the judge, it would lose points for word placement and readability.

...but that's up to T-Stool and dj mjc to decide, yo.
  • edited September 2006
    yes yes-lose of points...*sigh*

I'd burn it and the creator for lack of punctuation.
  • edited September 2006
    Yay burning! I mean-er-WRONG! Bad Behemoth!....Yay burning!

I think I pretty much won with this one.

I've got an idea for an entry, but I need props. Anyone know where I can find a good 16-bit image of a large, rectangular wooden table viewed from the side? Some chairs (also viewed from the side) are also required. I know there should be a billion and a half games with that sort of thing but I'm drawing a blank right now.

  • edited September 2006
trust me kirby, the sprites aren't the problem.

i mean the way I have the text and other things because I'm still not able to do that

what video gameisit based on then?

The "joke" is that it's a "sprite comic". It features sprites. He even included a definition of sprite in case the "joke" was too obscure.

    2. It may be from any video game- video games ONLY!

    3. No comics shorter than five panels or longer than 20.

    4. Remember: punchlines are cool! (If you know what I mean!)
Hey! It looks like every submission so far (including mine) has broken one or more rules! I guess there are technically still no entries then.
  • edited September 2006
Hm..well-if none of them follow the rules, we'll just judge the best out of all of them!
