Holy crap. If I remember right, when I joined Inksandwich I was 14 and you were 13. Time flies on these here internets.

    Congrats.

So we're marrying off another OBer are we? Eh, weddings are overrated. The party afterward, however, can be quite grand.
I think it is your womanly duty to show off your ring to everybody you know now.

Yes, Lauren will soon be learning about lots of womanly duties. Congrats!

Indeed. Lauren, I think you should make sure Eric has a big kitchen... you'll be spending a lot of time there. Also, congratulations again!

The best part is that he totally surprised you with this ring and you didn't see it coming at all! :p Congratulations to you both!

My getting Internet back now seems kinda boring in comparison, but if it means I get to forum it up with you guys again, I'll gladly take it as a success.

The ceremony is certainly not the best part of the wedding. And if you're getting married, the party probably isn't that great either since you'll be spending almost all your time greeting everyone. Unless you have a really long party.

But for people attending, the parties are AWESOME!

Hey, maybe your wedding can be the OB gathering that we've been planning for so long!

Relative: "So, how do you know the bride?"
OB Member: "I'm from the internet."

    Second Takeru's idea.

    Congratulations!

You all need to go in black suits, sunglasses, and earpieces. Then say, 'I'm from the internet.' in a monotone, yet intimidating voice.

What a grand success. Congrats! Good luck with all the planning ahead of you.

Meeting at a wedding would probably be strange. And the bride usually ends up being quite busy such that you'd never really be able to hang out much.

I'm in favor of meeting up at an event of some sort, but probably not so much a wedding.

I'd like to come to the wedding! Like, seriously please! I love weddings! Congratulations, Lauren. I hope you guys end up married and please don't ever get divorced! Make it work!

Oh wow! Congrats Mish! I think she might be the new winner of this thread now.

Hahaha, thanks guys!! I think it would be hilarious if our OB meeting ended up at my wedding, but we'll have to figure it all out :) As of right now, my dad's saying he wants us to wait a while before we can actually have the wedding, so it may be like 2 years before the actual wedding date.. we'll see what ends up happening. As of right now, I just staying engaged and showing off my ring!

I'm heading off to Hong Kong again tomorrow, and this time I'm going solo for sales and branding work. And what's even better is that my boss has given me the okay to extend my trip and stay longer if necessary if I find more potential business leads. This is just another step towards the company beginning to think it'll be easier to just move me there permanently.

I pwn at Braid, which is cool, cause it's AWESOME.

It's a really great independent puzzle/platformer. It's on X-box marketplace and Steam. It got the independent game of the year award last year.
  • edited September 2009
The time trial achievement on that game is asking way too much of me.

I've almost done it, got 1 hour 30.

Married my sweetie, wedding was SO MUCH FUN. Am now 'honeymooning', spending a week off work in the new house we bought. Pussycat is next to me, I have glass of wine, and my Andrew is downstairs putting together bookcases from IKEA. Ultimate success. I think I'll make some cookies.
  • edited September 2009
Well if that isn't a success, then I don't know what is! The most awesome part is how apparently you're so accustomed to success that it doesn't seem too much of a big deal to you: "yeah, I married my sweetie, we live in a newly-bought house and I'm gonna make cookies, laterz".
  • edited September 2009
Cookies are like autopilot for awesome. You shouldn't have to think about it.
Don't forget to share them with Andrew.
  • edited September 2009
You know, if he's quick enough with the furniture assembly. Fresh baked cookies wait for no man.

This could have gone in the crazy dream thread, but I felt this thread was more appropriate.

I had this dream though, it was pretty normal for the most parts, the only weird bit was the celebrity wedding in the stadium somehow leading to an enormous battle in a cave, miles below the surface. Well, that and the fact that those who seemed to be in my group found an brand-spankin' new, armored, multidimentional, bigger inside that it was outside car. Inside the cave!

None of that stuff was the SUCCESS. What REALLY pwned was the the entire dream was narrated in limerick form!

I think it was brought on by the most recent Zero Punc, but I can't be sure...
  • edited September 2009
Wow, so you can literally compose limericks IN YOUR SLEEP?

    I consider that a success.

I had a friend of mine from work pick me up a 2gb memory stick for my laptop for $30 bucks. I will go home tonight and hopefully install it successfully into my computer. If I succeed it will mean I am slightly less incompetent with computers! Wish me luck.
