Caught my train home with 6 seconds on the clock.

I usually take the underground one stop to save 5 mins, then take the real train which only comes every 50 minutes. But the underground was stuck today, so I had to hustle on foot.

    I am back.

There was a tsunami of beer headed towards Perth, but luckily I was there to stop it.

Sweet Monkey Jesus, I have never been on such an impressive bender. Drinking solidly from the 29th of December until the 14th of January.

I'll have to post some proper highlights and pictures at some point this week. Right now I need to catch up on missed internet and sleep.

And I thought my winter was intense.

Nah, actually, I didn't. Last year's winter break after my break-up was much, much more extreme. This winter's partying was lame in comparison.

I can only hope there were shenanigans. Gods help you if there were no shenanigans *shakes fist menacingly*

I have successfully survived the first half of my first year of high school!

Your school offers AP courses your first year of high school? Huh! Most of the students at my school could only take P-AP until their junior year; there was only one AP class offered to sophomores at my school, and that was only Music Theory.

There's only two open to Sophomores, AP European History and AP Biology. Euro has an intense workload, but its honestly one of the best classes I've ever taken. Most people who have taken it from the current teacher at our school say it is harder than most of their college classes.

FINALLY! It's 5 in the morning, I've been drinking all night assuming there wouldn't be school tomorrow, and they JUST NOW updated and made the decision to cancel all classes. Those fuckers had me worried I'd be miserable for the entire day.

Time to go to sleep and sleep through the weather as much as possible :)

By the way... I love you guys.

My utilities bill came in yesterday. I get billed every 5 months, and my water meter somehow rolled back a bit. The utilities company owes me $4 bucks for water. My receipt was filled in by hand, and whoever posted it on my door apparently sees no problem with this.
  • edited March 2011
....wat. So how does that work?
  • edited March 2011
I'm not sure. I'll pay my utilities on Monday morning and find out. Since my utilities are all paid to the apartment community, I just walk to the adjacent building and into their office.

Obviously Ryan has been getting water somewhere and putting it INTO his faucet, toilet, etc. and is now owed $4 by the water company.

    That is technically true.

So, I was filling in the census online, when a particularly interesting question popped up...

I ACTUALLY got away with not looking at ANYTHING school related over Spring Break. I was really, really thinking I was going to be TOTALLY screwed since I had no idea the amount of homework I was going to be expected to do. Turns out, the usual weekly homework assignments I have that take hours and hours to complete were both put off til next week, and other than that I just have some things to finish that weren't due until Tuesday and Wednesday that I could procrastinate anyway.

Failure of a student? Or success??

Also, I commuted to the middle of nowhere Texas everyday last week to do easy work for a couple hours, and I'm going to be paid milage. I figure I made around 70 bucks per day for driving, PLUS all the extra hours I could work because I wasn't in class. My next paycheck is gonna be FAT, I'm looking forward to it because I'm kind of broke right now :/

Giving up my Spring Break for work and paying for gas will totally be worth it. I hope.

Did you end up checking out SXSW?
  • edited March 2011
Yep!! I only went out on Friday night, but I had a good time. Blue October was playing, but I was actually more excited when I found out Bowling 4 Soup was opening for them. I hadn't listened to them in years!

Apparently at one of the concerts some night, some chick got punched in the face by the lead singer for throwing ice on stage. Too bad I wasn't there for that one... her friend went up on stage after it happened to defend her, and ALSO got punched in the face. I'm guessing all three people involved were very drunk.

I've heard that there aren't going to be as many free shows to go to next year, but hopefully I can still get into a few good shows. Plus, next year I'll be 21. A lot of the shows this year were 21 and up, so I couldn't even try and RSVP to any of them. We'll see! SXSW was really fun.

...I found a kitty 2 days ago, and she is ADORABLE. I don't know if we'll get to keep it, but it has been living with us so far and I already love her. She's so nice!
  • edited March 2011
I will allow you to keep this kitty. BUT you must give it a ridiculously awesome/nerdy name.
  • edited March 2011
Perhaps one condition of the kitty staying is that the Belt gets to name it!
  • edited March 2011
These are agreeable terms. It is decided! Everyone start posting suggestions and I'll make a poll thread.

Well I would think you should name your cat Perseus
  • edited March 2011
This cat is the CUTEST cat ever. I'm currently fighting with it over dominance of the keyboard.

Bare with me that this is indeed an awesome success, granted not my awesome success, but you need a bit of completely depressing back story on current events for it to be so.

My dad had like a mini-stroke a few years back. Because of it he's had to stop working and mostly sits about the house all day doing nothing. (He used to be like SUPER ACTIVE, one of those people that if they weren't on a roof fixing something, the day just wasn't right.)

More recently, like yesterday recently, his parents have asked him to play his old accordion for their 80th Birthday party. He used to be REALLY REALLY good; he was almost in an actual band, but decided not to so that he could work and get married and such. So anyway today, instead of moping about he's playing his accordion that he hasn't even looked at in decades!

A few of the keys stick a bit though, we're gonna have to take it into Chesbro's or something and have them clean it up. And he's still WAY better than I ever was at guitar, granted I didn't play guitar for very long.

That IS awesome! I can't even imagine not being able to lead the lifestyle I wanted for physical reasons.
