That's wonderful that he can find something to put effort into again. Mastering an instrument takes hours and hours and hours of dedicated practice, so assuming he still enjoys practicing, he can be at it for years. It also couldn't hurt his brain functioning... playing an instrument uses a lot of different pathways in your brain, so while he might find that he can't do some things that he used to be able to do, he might be able to repair his brain just by practicing and creating new neural pathways that were damaged during the stroke. It's certainly worth a shot anyway! Hope you like accordian music!

Also, update on the cat: It's still here, it's still adorable, but DAMN it can get annoying. It's still in it's playful age where it needs constant attention, and I feel bad leaving it at home while I'm at class and work alone. At the same time, I do my homework at home, usually late at night when I'm cranky and have no spare time to spend on kitty. I take breaks to play with it, but it's constantly jumping on me and trying to attack my fingers while I type, attacking my laptop screen when it sees the mouse moving around, walking all over my keyboard, etc.... When it's not trying to attack or otherwise play with me, it wants to cuddle. This is adorable, except for the fact that this cat LOVES to knead. And lick. It gets annoying after the kitty has been kneading my love handles for half an hour. Makes me feel fat D:

I still love this kitty, but I'm trying to ween it to go outside so 1) I don't have to clean up its shit every day, and 2) it actually has something to do to get rid of all its energy when no one's home. So far she's a little bitch and wants to go straight inside whenever I go out with her. If I can't get it into an outdoor kitty, I may just have to give it away. We're not even supposed to have pets in the house... I was thinking maybe if I had it go outside it wouldn't be as big of a deal, but so far that cat isn't budging.

Get her shots and get her neutered before you let her out! Daaaaymn, son, you don't wanna have to deal with the alternative.

When I found her, her tummy was shaved and she still had a few stiches from getting spayed, and there was a spot on her neck shaved for I dunno why. Since she just got an operation I'm assuming she's had her shots :/

So the course schedule for the fall semester just opened up, and I was looking at what classes I needed to take and which ones were available. As I was looking though the requirements I still hadn't fulfilled, it said I wasn't filled up on Fine Arts credits. My first reaction was to think this was completely ridiculous, since I not only received AP credit from taking Music Theory in high school (which should have filled up the requirements by itself), but I also took 3 hours of orchestra and violin lessons my first semester here. (The fine arts requirement is only for 3 hours, by the way).

Upon researching a little further, I figured out that they spread out my fine arts classes from my first semester into two different categories, and I couldn't find any credits from Music theory... I wondered if it was possible that I had never actually clicked the little button years ago to claim credit for those classes. Sure enough, that was the case, and so I figured out how much I would have to pay to get the course credit. Then I saw how many hours it was going to give me.

I figured it'd be some standard 3 hour music course, but as it turns out, I'll get credit for TWO 6 hour music classes. 12 hours-- That's an entire semester at the click of a button!! How freakin convenient is that?

For all you American youngins still in high school out there, seriously, take as many AP courses as you can. That one click of the button for 12 hours amounts to almost $5000 in tuition. Pretty frickin sweet.

Yesterday I saw Ozzy Osbourne LIVE. The first time he played in my country. It was great! I thought it wouldn't be so good because he's older than hell but I was proven wrong thankfully!

Just got commissioned to create a music video for a band here in Limerick, Ireland during July! Keep an eye on the YouTubin' thread around the middle/end of July for the result!
  • edited May 2011
Congrats! Can't wait to check it out (unless the band sucks (just kidding, I'd play it on mute if that happened)).

Apparently the Queen and Prince Philip were due to visit Limerick, but had it cancelled when advisors realised that Philip's speech was to begin with "There once was a palace called Buckingham..."

    How does it end?

I'm out of High School wednesday.
  • edited May 2011
    I haven't graduated yet :(

And with the way it looks, I'm thinking I'm gonna graduate in another 2 years, making me a super senior. Oh well.
  • edited May 2011
Yeah i still have 2 years left as well, although I recently got exempt from an 8 month work experience requirement for my course. This means I now have 8 months off of college to pursue whatever I want to do. This includes a music video for a band I recently worked with and also some paid video editing for my department head and also some radio work. SUCCESS!!!

No. I got a Hyundai Elantra. Also, is it normal for the dealer to try and hook you up with his daughter? I haven't bought a car for over 9 years now, so I'm not sure how these things are supposed to work.

God, in the old days, seat belts were optional extras, now it's women.
  • edited June 2011
They just want you to stain it so they can buy it back cheaper if you don't like it later. That probably wasn't even his daughter.
  • edited June 2011
If he offered you his daughter, you should have asked about stain guards for the trunk.

Maaaaannn last night was fun. I went to sleep at 8:30 am, woke up to my alarms at 10, and I think I'm still drunk. Fantastic.
  • edited June 2011
Being drunk all the time: an awesome success, indeed.

Btw, maybe I've already brought this to your attention but, is the consensus still that Lauren won the thread? Or are we keeping that title for ironic purposes only?

I outsmarted Steam! Duke Nukem is not for sale in China.

    BUT

I used my VPN to log into Steam via a US server. I bought the game, and then I preloaded it.

    AND THEN

I logged back into Steam without my VPN, into the Chinese servers. Because the international release is June 10th while the US is June 14th, Steam unlocked my copy!

I AM PLAYING DUKE NUKEM MOTHAFUCKAS

Soon our Duke Nukem jokes regarding its never getting a release will stop making sense. These are sad times in which we live.
