    Ryan and I smoke cigars.

    Regularly?

For me, it's just at work and parties. So if we all got together, then I'd have a few. I don't all of Ryan's habits as of this moment, though.

One might want to try that out!

I don't smoke regularly, because it's an expensive habit, but I smoke if there's a good reason to. I'll definitely be enjoying some smooth cigars while I'm there.

I'll smoke a fag occasionally, but eh, I try to stay away from it.

And seriously, who uses that "over 18" rule to smoke anyway? Everyone I know who smokes regularly started before they actually turned 18 years old.

I too have been known to suck a fag from time to time. :D

    But seriously, I started when I was 18. July 5th 2008.

I can't stand the smell of smoke. At all. I have friends with parents that smoke; I generally refuse to go to their houses. The smell makes me panic. So probably safe to say I will never smoke.
  • edited December 2008
The problem with parents that smoke is that they make their children stinky.

Ryan, you liar, you live in smoker's paradise. What is it there? 20c a pack? Remember how En whined about $2-3/pack? and people pay $9-10/pack here.

Ditto. I can't even stand to breath when walking next to smokers.

Yeah, but I don't like cigarettes, so I don't smoke them.

Bleh. I hate it when people give me shit for my house smelling like smoke. It's one of my biggest pet peeves. One of my friends, I swear, every time he visits me at my parents house, he'll be sending me messages for days later going "Hur hur my jacket smells like you're house it's so gross!"

I wish I could do something about it, but I can't. I also have to live with the thought that my mom will probably die of lung cancer and will never know my children for very long (I never really knew my grandparents), and my dad will probably die of something else related to smoking. Have some sympathy.

I don't bug them about it. We just don't hang out at their house. We’re all happy that way.

    Kidneys and liver and stuff.

I don't care what we eat, as long as it's not Chinese. I only get a collective two or three weeks out of the year to eat real non-Chinese food, so I make the most of it.

By the way. how are things looking for all you guys who weren't sure when you'd be able to go?
  • edited January 2009
HEY GUYS I love you all, you should read what I edited in my first post so that this trip might actually be a possibility instead of a good idea :)

Later in August the better for me. I am planning to swing up towards Vancouver around Sept. 3rd or so for Tanya's wedding. I can get a return flight to Shanghai from San Fran or anywhere else that has a layover in Vancouver, so I was just going to delay it for a day or two and go to the wedding then.

So, weekend of August 29/30, or the few days after?
  • edited January 2009
My housing is still available. Not sure why I'm not on the RSVP list. :p
  • edited January 2009
    Well! Me neither, actually...

    Fixed!!!
  • edited January 2009
I'm still interested but still have no idea what I'll be doing by that time. I'll keep you guys posted.

Okay time to start checking when classes start next semester! Cuuuuz I just did and found out I started classes August 26th. Is the weekend before/maybe a few days after a problem for everyone? If I'm the only lame person who couldn't make it, you could always have it without me!

Hey all sorry to be joining this thread so late... But i'll be flying to SF sometime around August of this year, since i need to renew my California drivers license. Let me know what y'all are thinking!
  • edited January 2009
Alright, I've been looking at this realistically, and for ME, there is no way I'd be able to make it. All the rest of you, look up what days your schools start classes next fall, and work out where you'll be staying; I think Mario's place sounds best for California, but yeah. If it were California, I don't have the money or the time to do this in late August. Someone else needs to start planning for me :P
  • edited January 2009
I already have a somewhat big trip planned this summer, not to mention that late august would be cutting it close to classes for me, consider me out until further notice.
  • edited January 2009
Well let's do this. Everyone who is interested post a time frame they THINK they can make it. It doesn't have to be a commitment. Let's just see what times people are thinking of, and maybe we can find happy medium.

    For me, Aug. 23rd - Sept. 3rd.
