Well, my plans have changed yet again. Looks like I'll be driving down to FL, staying only one week, and then have the rest of the summer free.

So if you guys are still doing this, let me know a start date. :)

DAMMIT! Alright, please correct me if I'm wrong, but now:
Andrew's place was gonna be our meet-up HQ but Andrew is busy, and Ryan (who was gonna be trusted in Andrew's absence) can't come so we need to find a place to stay if we head out there. And it just looks like Mish, FF and I are the only ones who are free to go now, anyway. Maybe 1 one 2 others who haven't spoken up were considering it?
I'm not trying to discourage anyone, I just want to know where we stand now. I'm still planning to head out that way at some point and visit people in Indiana. I just need to know when I should be leaving and where i'm going first.

    Eerie, Indiana?

    No, Valparaiso.

You're right... Ryan's out. And we're busy the weekend that we planned this originally AND the following weekend... two weddings in a row. So our place seems like it's pretty much out of the picture unfortunately. Sorry, everyone. =(

I think we may have planned too early. Since it doesn't seem like anyone else is planning to go, and i now only have one person i know out that way who might be available to hang out, I'm just gonna skip the extra traveling. My vacation will now be a super trendy "staycation".

    REVIVAL OF THE MEETUP THREAD

HAY. I'm going to the US for reals this time! Is anybody going to be around the Chicago/Michigan area during the second week of June? Andrew and I could try to meet up with some other OBers if any are around.

OR they could all come to NY!
  • edited April 2010
Indeed. Or we could do like an OB US TOUR, with a stop in NYC and a stop in the Midwest.

Sorry mario and other west coast people. I need to visit Cali sometime, but I can't make it this trip. Next year I'll try.

I wanna go to Cali some time.
  • edited April 2010
Oh man, I kinda wish you were going a little later. I'm pretty damn busy during June, but July, fuck, I would go straight to Cali and back with you. If you wanna stop off in Connecticut, let's hit that up, cause then God and I can take you to all the hip hang out spots. Or we could just eat at Five Guys once.

    I want to see you : ((((((

I've got a summer course I'm taking for a good chunk of it, so if I were to go up it would be a weekend trip. I still have family that lives near Chicago, so I'd have a place to stay. I just gotta figure out if I can afford airfare/gas moneys.

I do need to visit Texas too sometime, I have old friends there as well. So, hopefully next year I can do a South and West US trip.

We can hang out a bunch and it will be WONDERFUL! I'm willing to drive anywhere in Texas; I've spent MANY hours driving through Texas, I'm used to the landscape

Plus, I doubt you'd be going anywhere too far away from Dallas or Austin.
  • edited April 2010
Since I used to live in Dallas, that's the area I'd be most interested in going to. But yeah, this won't be for a while, probably not until next year.

We've got Five Guys on Long Island, too. But I know none of you suckers have a TJ's Hero. Come to NY, it's better.

I didn't know Connecticut had any hip hang out spots.

    Where do you live again?

Torrington. The northwest corner doesn't have much going for it.
  • edited April 2010
Oh, well that explains it, you live in Torrington.

Strangely enough we have a Five Guys right here in Idaho Falls, though I suppose one of the founders was born nearby in Rexburg.

If anyone wants to come out to California, I'll roll out all kinds of sleeping bags!

Also I'm going to w00tstock 2.0 in Seattle on 5/7, so if anyone's around those parts around those times, please meet up with me!

Beyond that, I wish any East Coast meet-ups the best and send my seething rage-jealousy.
