The movie list has been updated! I made sure that any movies Jon mentioned in the podcast will remain in their correct order, but we had a few films that needed a place in the list. Obsoive:
Phil The Alien
Westworld
Freejack
Farenheit 451
Tron
Night Watch/Nochnoi Dozor
Jurassic Park
They aren't in that order though, so go look at the movie list already! And the iCal link has been updated to reflect the recently-discovered (by me) ability to subscribe to the calendar file via Google Calendar as well, so that's cool! Finally, movies already watched have been moved to the bottom of the list, so you can see at a glance what's coming up next. Hopefully these streamling tactics of mine will get more of you to watch the movies and discuss them with us cool people!
Seriously. People that don't watch SCIENCE! movies are lame.
As you can see we've been trying to inject some more mainstream content into the list so that it'll be easier for you guys to get ahold of these movies.
And remember to see City of Lost Children in a few weeks or your lives will be forever devoid of colour and meaning.
How about Krull and the pilot episode of the Flash tv series? I remember on spike tv they ran (no pun intended) the pilot as a feature film. Krull ,although cheesy, has some sci-fi elements to it and a cool spinning ultimate weapon.
I loved that show as a kid, and was so pissed off when I bought one of the comics and found out that Barry was dead and some kid named Wally was wearing the suit.
ok hlavco, not exactly on topic, but you done did gone made pichu CREEEEEEEEEEEEpy. I'd almost be scared in a smash battle, but then I'd star KO you with my mad sheiketry and not have to no longer not be unscared no more.
I've added Snakes On A Plane to the list! It won't take the place of any normally-scheduled movies, but I figured a lot of us are gonna go see it anyway, and snakes combined with planes are pretty SCIENCE!y. Plus we're all gonna wanna talk about it. If you go to the movie list page, it included instructions on how to find the movie in your area (apparently a lot of theaters are gonna do midnight or earlier shows, which is awesome). I also bought a shirt to wear for the occasion. See you all there! In spirit!
Another thing I've now done is revamped the offical For SCIENCE! page. I've implemented most of the color scheme from the forum theme to the main page, because that just makes sense. The reason I'm mentioning this in this particular thread is because I've also changed how the movies are laid out; you can see an entire month on one row, so you can easily discern which movies are coming up, and hopefully have time to pick them up for viewin' and maybe also discussin'. Let me know what you think!
Also, we've got lots of empty slots for movies if you want to suggest more.
I don't know if it's already been watched, but how about "Man With The Screaming Brain"? or a random "Twilight Zone" Episode that's scheduled to Air on Cable or something.
Edit:
I scheduled a few movies into my phone and I noticed this on the list.
"6/19/2006: Riki-Oh: Story of Ricky" Incredibally awesome/dumb movie. it'll be a hoot.
Yes I just used hoot.

Sorry, but check the date: it was a hoot. I think it may have been one of my favorites of the whole bunch to watch. You can voice your opinion of it here.
Here's some COPYRIGHT LAW!! for everybody: Plan 9 from Outer Space (and probably others on the list, I haven't finished looking) is in the public domain! There's an archive of public domain movies on archive.org, but Plan 9 has been removed. I found a page of free movie torrents here, Plan 9 included. Check out the archive.org page too!
So when the date comes to watch Plan 9 From Outer Space, you have NO EXCUSE not to watch it. Except for all of those possible reasons you might have not to watch it.
edit: I'd also like to recommend Super Fuzz for SCIENCE! viewing. It might be somewhat hard to track down, but at least Netflix has it. I would check local video stores-- if they have it, it'll probably be on VHS, and a very cheap rental. I got it at Hastings a few years back.
Anyway, Super Fuzz is best described as "the movie so bad it's surprising that they got Ernest Borgnine". Think about that one.
Yarrr. I missed it, but it was probably a hoot. Anyways, I ordered a "Snakes on a Plane" shirt, and here's the song for it.
Snakes on a plane Song
It has Travis from Gym Class Hero's! yay. Anyways, another suggestion. It's anime, but it's a classic. Akira, it took me a watch or two to grasp the concept. It can be considered Sci-fi.
Oh, can you add Buried Alive to the list? It was a made for TV movie, and amazon has it on VHS, so if you've already ditched your VCR....
EDIT: Actually, scratch that, the numerous Buried Alive's on amazon are not the one I was thinking of, and so, I dunno if people will be able to get hold of the film.
I'm not sure if it's already on the list or not, by I suggest Terminater. Also I know of a few foriegn films, and since City of Lost Children is on the list, I'm assuming they're also acceptable. First is The Returner, I believe it's Japanese. It features time travel, aliens, alien robots, robot aliens, and a little bracelet-machine that speeds up the user to the point where they can dodge bullets by walking. I also suggest Ong-Bak, it's an awesome movie, only SCIENCE! I can remember from it is a serum that dulls pain, but the awesome fight scenes should make up for the lack of SCIENCE!
Oh man, I loved Ong Bak! We also saw this other movie starring Tony Jaa that was pretty much the same as Ong Bak except it had an elephant instead of a god. It even co-starred the same comedic relief buddy, this time as a friendly cop! Based on these two movies, we believe that Tony Jaa movies are written using Mad Libs.
These are all great suggestions, and I'm glad to see more people are getting in the spirit of movie-watching! I will advise that we not try to suggest "VHS-only" titles, as they may simply be too hard to find for the vast majority of us. Check Netflix or Amazon for your title before suggesting; it's possible a movie was released on DVD without your knowledge.
I'm casting my vote for "Attack The Gas Station!", because it supposedly features people attacking a gas station.
Holy Cow Mario! I watched Attack the Gas Station just last night! There's not much SCIENCE! but there are a few helarious parts and I found it to be a good movie.
EDIT: Oh, I just remembered one for the list. How about "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow"? All I know about it is there are robots installed with Malice.gif, but it should be good enough.
Highlander! Probably the best movie from the 80's in my opinion. It has decapitation, 2000 year old egyptian guys, AND Queen music. What more could you ask for?
But not the sequels. They suck something awful. Seriously, they're terrible!

EDIT: Also, how about we watch Maximum Overdrive? It's a movie starring Kevin Bacon, in which a Mack truck comes to life and starts killing people.
It starred Emilio Estevez, and was directed and written by Stephen King.
Can't argue with that logic.
