Its not, but Metal Gear solid is mainly a Sony franchise, apart from a few PC ports and a GC remake of MGS1, Snake hasn't left the PS since MGS1

I would like to direct the jury's attention to Exhibit A.

I saw almost all of the E3 stuff today, and I'm absolutely blown away by the "Wii."

Pretty much everything I saw was amazing. Brawl was definitely no exception.

Also: I'd be a little disappointed if Sonic wasn't an unlockable character.
ALSO THAT IS GOING TO GET ME YELLED AT: Who the hell is "Meta-knight?"

Also, last one: I'm way more excited about the new Mario and Zelda games, than I am about Brawl.

Meta-Knight is Kirby's arch nemisis. If I'm not mistaken, he showed up first in Superstar.
  • edited May 2006
Nope, he was in Kirby's Adventure.

I used to have that game till my sister made off with the nes. I'm sure she's still got it someplace.

It's looking like this "Wii" may be the first console I purchase since I bought a used super nintendo. As if "used" has any effect on a super "nindestructable"; the console voted most likly to survive the apocolypse.

I miss the days when King DeDeDe was Kirby's arch-nemesis. It felt so good to finally kick that guy's ass in Kirby's Dreamland on Hard Mode.

Khan, I'm also excited about Twilight Princess and Super Mario Galaxy, but those likely won't have quite as cool an online multiplayer mode as Brawl. Brawl's gonna rock our faces online.

Apparantly Nintendo's Japanese site has a "suggest a character" page where you can write in characters you would like to see in the game.
  • edited May 2006
Sure, as long as you can read Japanese, type Japanese, and know the character and game's Japanese names. So I should be good to go. Hopefully the US will get a chance to voice in too though, since I'm sure our country enjoys this series at least as much as the Japanese.

Yeah, I was hoping that would all be implied when I said, Nintendo's Japanese site, but yeah, that's the way it is. As far as it coming here is concerned, we can only hope, but if they're going to do it, it's probably going to be soon so the characters can be picked in time to implement thme without delaying the game.

I know Metal Gear is an NES game (PC-Engine one too I think).

But I said Metal Gear Solid, which has a different numbering scheme to Metal Gear, and thus although being about the same guy is technically a different series.

It's actually an MSX game. They ported it to the NES but the port was, as the French say, rather crap. Unfortunately, it was the only version to make it to this side of the Pacific. Metal Gear 2 was also an MSX game, and it had absolutely nothing to do with the NES Metal Gear 2.

Okay.. Pit and Metaknight? I don't care who else the game has, Pope Ratigan couldn't be cooler.

I can and have also done all of these things. If someone really wants me to 'vote' for them, PM me or something.

I voted for Phoenix Wright and Pac-Man, which are unassailable and obviously correct choices.

So I heard the music for this game is gonna be even more orchestra-y than Melee. I really didn't like the orchestral style that much. The original had the best music, I think.

All we know (which I think can be heard in the trailer) is that Nobuo Uematsu (composer of a bunch of Final Fantasy stuff) is in charge of the theme. No idea if he's doing the whole game, but I highly doubt it, since I don't think Uematsu would be up for rearranging a bunch of other people's NES music.

The fate of everyone's wildest Smash Brothers fantasies rests in your hands, mario.

VOTE ZERO FOR PRESIDENT- I MEAN SMASH BROTHERS!!

    Hi daveshn!

I think we need to add the oft-ignored-yet-still-awesome Cubone to Super Smash Bros. Oh wait, Marowak's much better.

nah, if they add any more pokemon, they need to go with kabutops

    The Duck Hunt Dog!

That way you can fight him with a character with a gun and finally shoot him.
  • edited May 2006
Nah dude. It's bad enough they have the Nintendogs in it.
  • edited May 2006
They'd damn well better not include any more Pokémon. Four Pokémon in the previous game was probably what led to Pit's exclusion in the first place. Show more love for the neglected stuff!

The Duck Hunt Dog should be an item. Maybe his laughter stuns the opponent, or sends them into a blind rage.

I demand R.O.B. to be an accessory one can use in the game!

Cthulhu would make a cool item, he could drive your opponents mad and render them completely unable to defend themselves.
  • edited May 2006
That's going a bit too far beyond the third-party realm, methinks.

You could sort of make it an Eternal Darkness reference, sort of.

Heeeey, how about Eternal Darkness insanity effects? That would be something!

i will support this if you can find solid evidence of at least one nintendo game with a cthulhu having a significant part.
