Since the final smash isn't listed as an item on the blog, it probably isn't. But I'm sure that you'll be able to turn it off.

Oh God, I can't wait to try these new "smash attack"s! They sound so revolutionary and exciting!
  • edited July 2007
Well, at least we know how the regular controller can pull them off now.

Seems kinda tedious to tell the truth.
  • edited July 2007
Still, nice to know you have the freedom of options. Methinks I'm gonna lean toward analog-stick-assisted controllers, but of course I'll try them all out when the time comes.

Woo! Bumpers are back! They were fifty-bazillion times better than flippers!
  • edited July 2007
Also, we got a release date of Dec. 3rd.
  • edited July 2007
Er...what? Links please. I heard November.

    EDIT: Oh, IGN.

Seriously though, December? I have a question for whoever decided on that (highlight):

    WHAT THE FUCKING FUCK?

Sorry, had to blow off that steam.

Melee came out in December too, a few weeks after the GameCube.

    I'm hella pumped.

If I can't pre-order it, I may have to skip school just to get it on the release date.

    Animal Crossing Stage= win!

I wonder if the characters will be hit-able?

So, today's update was a little odd... sounds cool? I dunno. Someone on a different site posted this interpretation:

    Okay, time to understand this.

The "world" is an arena where trophies turn into real fighters to brawl it out for entertainment.

Mario and Kirby are the victims this time.

The Mario and Kirby trophies turn into real fighters.

Mario defeats Kirby and Kirby turns back into a trophy.

But Mario returns Kirby to his real form again.

This disrupts the rules of the world.

Meta Knight's ship appears (hinting he is involved with these "rules")

A retarded purple robot appears to defend the rules of the world by punishing Mario and Kirby.

    = Story mode
    Interesting.

    Is it april first already?

    Sad face!

I'm incredibly disappointed that they used the newer Yoshi look instead of the classic look like in the old Smash games! Look at that saddle! It's like a basketball sticking out of Yoshi's back!

...yeah, it's really just the saddle that bugs me. Who would be comfortable riding on that thing?
  • edited July 2007
Among other things, he can now use his up special move, the Egg Toss, to increase the distance of his jump. That’s enough to earn him a hearty welcome, isn’t it?
    About damn time.
  • edited July 2007
    That's a saddle?
  • edited July 2007
    It always has been.
  • edited July 2007
Yoshi's gonna be able to get some mad jumping distance! No fair!

EDIT of: I'm liking how you can destroy all the platforms on Pit's stage.

Hey, with the pit fall as an item, it's starting to look more likely that there could be an Animal Crossing character of sorts.
  • edited August 2007
New character! Ike. I kinda thought he would show up. The only question now is whether Marth or Roy is staying, if either of them stay at all.
  • edited August 2007
Man, I hope they add Sain. Such an awesome ladies' man.
  • edited August 2007
    SWEET!

This is pretty much the best thing ever. I've always wanted a story mode in smash bros....

Also, is this a new character?

I can't imagine who that would be. Is that someone from Pit's universe? Perhaps Palutena? I never played the game, so I have no clue what she looks like.

Aw man. I thought Zelda was going to turn into Sheik for sure.

A bigger Adventure Mode is great news for lonely people like me.

I hope they confirm Sandbag as a playable character.

    Palutena looks like this:

Wikipedia seems to think she's the one in the screenshot.

Ever since we first saw those evil new things, I said they looked like evil sandbags.
  • edited August 2007
Hmmm...So this indicates the return of Ness, or possibly a new character from the Mother universe.
  • edited August 2007
    Or possibly Ben Franklin.

    ...

Has he been in any video games? If not, then he definitely should.

If they replace Ness, it would probably be with Lucas, since he was going to be replacing Ness in Melee originally.
