A comic. I made.

So... apparently nobody noticed the "For Science!!" poster on the wall in that last comic. I should've made it stand out more.
  • edited September 2006
It was sorta covered in text, so it was hard to notice until you pointed it out.

Still, subtle jokes are always fun.

    Comic #25:
    comic025.png
I'm really starting to use outside characters way too much. I gotta stop that. It's annoying. The only reason Eevee even made an appearance in this one was because she was originally gonna have a bigger part, which I decided to cut.

The speech bubbles in this one are a little screwy, but not enough to bother fixing.

This'll probably be the end to this three-comic series of actual continuity, because I can't think of any more school-themed jokes.

NOTE: The teacher's name is a play on the Pokemon species, not the fact that forumgoer Khan is really a teacher.

So when are you going to get awesome hosting of some sort? Your webcomicry deserves its own space outside of a single thread!

And I'm not just saying that because I'm a total Pokémaniac either.

I dunno. What do you mean by hosting? Like, in a forum, or on actual webspace? Because I have plenty of free webspace so it isn't really a problem (though about one in every ten times, my website fails to load for whatever reason). I wouldn't mind getting onto a forum eventually, though.

I guess I meant a website devoted to your comics, but I suppose the free hosting Art link on your page gets the job done. I guess.
  • edited October 2006
Hmm. I never really thought of my comic as good enough to merit its own website. I'll have to give that some thought.
  • edited October 2006
Well I do! It's got intrigue, it's got character development, and it's worlds beyond any other Pokémon comics out there.

Then I'll definitely look into it! I think my current host may actually let us have more than one website, but I'm not sure.

Unrelated stuff that I was originally gonna type underneath the comic but forgot: I got Pokemon Mystery Dungeon the other day. It's a great game. Gets kinda repetitive, but the story's good. After taking the personality test, I wound up as a Squirtle, which is what I would've wanted to be anyway. As my partner, I picked a Charmander, who I named... Maurice. I dunno if it's the fact that they can talk now or what, but now I feel compelled to give all my Pokemon nicknames. Except for Farfetch'd, because you can't really improve on that.

Also, I was looking at some of the new Pokemon for those games Diamond and Pearl, and although a lot of the Pokemon seem a bit lackluster (though a definite improvement over Gen. III), I found two that I really like.
Go: http://serebii.net/diamondpearl/pokemon.shtml (not nearly the complete list)
They're Pachirisu, the electric squirrel, and Buizeru, the otter thing. They don't have English names yet, but they're quite cool. I may have to give them a comic appearance.

EDIT: It appears that I can have multiple domain names. Now I just need an idea for a name.

Well, why not follow nintendo's ethos of giving their portable games crazy names? *Scowls at Tingle*

Like: Super Super pocket monster tralala happy flower world?

    Or not.
  • edited October 2006
    Let's go with no.
  • edited October 2006
So. These domain things are hard to figure out. The best I've been able to do is to just make a subdomain on to my existing website.

    prcomics.pennyracers.frih.net

Yeah, that's a lot of dots, but whatcha gonna do? The page is a bit plain right now, and basically a clone of the old site. But... I think that horizontal rule really adds something to the appearance.
In a few weeks I'm gonna learn how to make Flash websites, so maybe then I'll be able to make it look really cool.

Yay for devoted websites! If you want a quick and dirty name for a video-game-based comic, name it after one of the items found within, like "Rare Candy", or "Silph Scope". Those are catchy names.
  • edited October 2006
I dunno. I'll think about it some more. Names are hard. TM47!!

...anyway, if you go back to the site, I made an attempt at a decent way of navigating the archives, because everybody's been getting on my case about that. I'm pretty sure it works!
  • edited October 2006
    Mmm, archivallicious.

TM47 was... Rock Slide? It's been awhile since I played Blue Version.
  • edited October 2006
Actually, TM47 is a pretty catchy name.

EDIT: Though I'm not sure what "Explosion" and "Steel Wing" have to do with any of this.
  • edited October 2006
Damn, it was Explosion. Rock Slide was TM49 or something.

All I remember was that TM26 was thunderbolt!

That's a good way to end this off-topicness. *laughs*

We were testing our collective memories, not looking for facts!

    Apparently our memories mostly suck.

Hey guys! New sketches abound. Or something.

#1:An angry Pikachu and a neat car.

#2:An almost-Dodge Neon, some pickup truck, and Pichu.

#3:Skippy and that weasel guy I drew that one time. I can't decide if the weasel looks cute or evil, but I think he's pretty cool looking.

#4:The last two panels of this were SO BAD that they were omitted. Maybe if I had managed to pull off panel four it would've ended better. You never know with comics on the fly.

#5:A bunch of other miscellaneous drawings.

I rather like the Evee that you crossed out in the first picture.
  • edited October 2006
Nah, it was screwed up. The hind legs were too far back, made the whole thing look weird. I've been in a major Eevee-drawing slump lately. I think I've drawn maybe two good ones in the past week.

Hlavco, ever considered making a ferret character in the comic? I love ferrets...
  • edited October 2006
Considering that it's a Pokemon comic, I'd have to go with Furret.
  • edited October 2006
    that was great
