It was a forum that existed before this one that a lot of the veterans here frequented. I think there was some kind of apocalypse there. As Serephel said, I've only heard whispers, filled with dread.
Well, I could tell the noobs all about it, but it doesn't really paint some people in a very good light, so it wouldn't be terribly polite of me to drag it up.
It's almost before my time. In fact I didn't even join until a bit into that second age. I was but a lurker in the dark in the first age. It all goes back to my early college days. When room 931 not only existed but was in its prime!
On that note, I could really use some StV archives.
Ok, TWC was the first forum site for a comic called Spelling the Vacuum. The comic then joined up with Staccato, 6:35, and eventually Zelda Comic to form Inksandwich. Pretty much all the moderators, and I were members, then Shawn decided to have an old man tantrum over shirts and shunned Stef and Mario. They went on to form The Orange Belt. Then The Orange Belt died after a server error. It was brought back, and is now the Orange Belt you know and love.
Hamelin has them. I should think Elliott does too, but Hamelin made a point of archiving them on his computer at some point in the past. I only have Episode 196, since I made that one.
TWC = Top Web Comics, and it was definitely the genesis for this community. It used to have free forums for all members united under a common main forum, making for a massive community of thousands of users, all with the ability to post in all the other forums. This was totally awesome, but due to some weird events I never looked very deeply into, the site changed hands a couple times, exploded a couple times, and the forums disappeared.
Before the last of the explosions, Shawn Handyside (creator of Staccato) gathered a few of us together and made his own smaller community called Inksandwich. Similar concept to TWC, but on a smaller scale and without the ranked listings. The vast majority of this community came from there as far as I can tell, and a few comics. This too was totally awesome, but eventually Shawn decided to change Inksandwich's focus to a more commercial slant, so Stef and I created The Orange Belt.
I'm guessing people say we're in the fourth age because our forums exploded awhile back and we forgot to make backups, so we had to start from scratch. ^__^ But I'd consider that to be more of a hiccup, since it's the same community and all. This is now. Everything that happens now is happening now. We passed then just now. We're at now now. We can't go back to then (now), because we missed it just now. Then will be now soon. In any case, The Orange Belt is totally awesome.
Oh yeah, and Inksandwich eventually got rid of their forums. Their news crawl hasn't been updated in over a year, so I'm guessing Shawn's not doing much with it after all.
When Inksandwich exploded, I had just started my phase of not visiting the forums everyday. I came back like 5 days later and said "Whoa, I think I missed something here." And now the orangebelt serves as my very loverly forum place where I can find all necessary love and acceptance when I'm not not-on-the-internet.
Other success, I told a lame waitress who was ignoring my family today while we were having lunch to get a move on in a polite way that still managed to get the point across that she didn't deserve a tip.
I made a yearly budget at work! It sucked at first, because I didn't know how to organize a budget, since I last took accounting four years ago. But it evolved, and then I started a nice long tree of summations of cells contributing to summations of new cells, all heading towards the grand ultra-summation total. I actually had fun with it at the end.
It looks spiffy. I'm quite proud.
Edit: MARIO that is awesome! I want to see Dethklok!
I would Go Into the Water to Bloodtrocute a Thunderhorse for a chance to Go Forth and Die and Crush My Battle Opponent's Balls at a Dethklok concert. But alas, I am a Blood Ocean away and must simply go to work everyday with a Briefcase Full of Guts.

The success is that I didn't go into a sugar coma immediately after.
And technically I joined my first forum this year.
It's a total success.
Or Hollywood should do a movie.
"Inksandwich: An Apocalypse"

Does that sum everything up?
Probably the best way to do it as the gritty detail is hardly becoming for the awesome SUCCESS thread.
On that note, I succeeded in not being late for work even though I forgot to set my alarm last night.
Yup, it's been a productive summer.

Also, I bought WoW: Burning Crusade tonight despite being an unemployed layabout! I'm awesome.
It looks spiffy. I'm quite proud.
