I'm happy as long as they don't add mega man.
  • edited January 2008
No Mega Man? What's wrong with Mega Man?
  • edited January 2008
Mega Man would be a perfect addition, just for the slide move alone.

I think it would be jumping the shark.

    And Sonic wasn't?

I'm still upset that they haven't put any characters from Princess Tomato in the Salad Kingdom in yet.

    And The Princess Bride.

I'm pretty sure that Capcom already said that Sakurai didn't approach them for Megaman's inclusion in Brawl, so I don't think he will be making an appearance.

On another note, the music in tonight's update is kick-ass.

    So is the update itself.

And the name is cleverer than "A Daily Show".

I wonder if this has any plot relevance? Maybe the Subspace Army destroys it, or it happened slowly while everyone was trophy'd?

Hey cool, a demo fight over wifi, and we get to see Samus' final smash.

We also get to see Sector Y, which I assume is part of the Lylat Cruise stage.

Theres a second video on the japanese site too. That one has Snake in it!

Those crazy Japs, always getting more!

The game's intro sequence is out on the tubes. Apparently all the characters we've been shown on the Dojo are not hidden, but standard. And there are a few potential new confirmations (I won't say which, in case you don't desire spoilers).

Wow, if there's that many characters standard, how many will this game have? There's already more characters than the entirety of Melee. Perhaps there is hope yet for Simon Belmont?

Well, at this point I pretty much know the entire final roster. Some people have gotten ahold of the game and spent all last night rampantly posting as they unlocked stuff. There's a list thats been leaked around the web for quite awhile, and the character confirmations we've gotten match that list EXACTLY. They're even displayed in the order the list gave.

We're just waiting for one more character to be confirmed that was on the list and hasn't yet been sighted in the game.

I won't give any specific characters away, but there appears to be 35 characters.

I really love how people are complaining about the roster, and how they'd give up every additional mode (stage builder, "crappy" online play, ect.) for about 3 more characters.

Every five or so posts on SA someone is screaming about Megaman or Ridley.

I can't even touch that thread, it's like 4000 posts.

See, I'm pretty sure I was talking about smash bros sometime and saying they should just try to make some sort of open system where they can add characters after launching the game through little bonus content packs. They could make money off stuff like that by charging per character or something. The Wii doesn't roll like that though. Nintendo isn't Microsoft. Plus, that'd be really hard to do well.

I personally like the roster for the most part. Its not perfect, but it has almost everyone I wanted. I'm sad about the exclusion of one character and the fact that there seems to be a few clones still but overall its pretty solid.

I know I'm gonna play the hell out of Metaknight. I never use Kirby's copy ability anyway, so he's like KIRBY with a SWORD.

Everything that stealing Link's power should have been, seriously.

I can't decide whether or not to keep looking at the site. They're soing secret characters and items starting tomorrow, and I want there to be surprises, but don't know if I can wait until my pre-order arrives on the 20th-ish.
  • edited January 2008
Personally, I'm not interested in revealing the game's hidden features until I can play it myself. I'm not gonna stop anyone from posting in this thread, but I'm not going to be reading it anymore. BOX STRIKERS UNITE!

Link dodging lasers is about the coolest thing I can think of.
  • edited February 2008
Not to put down your imagination or anything, but if that's the coolest thing you can think of you're not thinking very hard.

    For example:

That bears an uncanny resemblence to a scene that has played out in my mind before. Except the guy looked different in my head.

29 days! Lord, I can't take this much longer.

That's only 29 more days to not keep the same avatar.

Are we allowed to post the new, secret updates to this thread? Who cares. I haven't seen any close-up shots of Lucario before, and it looks awesome. And apparently those aren't pants...

Approximately 10 minutes ago (10:42 P.M.) I was listening to a rendition of "Still Alive", the credits theme of Portal, made on "Mario Paint Composer" (downloaded here http://www.unfungames.com/mariopaint/).

While doing so I closed my eyes and listened intently to this songs beauty. I started crying and said to myself, "Tomorrow is Christmas" referring to the Smash Bros. release.

Now I know I sound really weird right now but come on, tomorrow is gonna rock!!!

EDIT: 45 minutes til' the release!!! WII!!!
