We were getting so close, though! I had it pre-ordered any everything.

That's it. I'm going into a coma until February.

I was really hoping to play this with my friends during winter break, too.

Then again, Tomb Raider:Angel of Darkness had about 7.

And Duke Nukem Forever is still not out.

Anything more than about 3 delays pretty much dooms a game to failure. Even at 3 it becomes hit or miss as to whether the game will be good or not.

EDIT: I believe someone once said "Real artists ship."

IGN did a nice little hands-on write-up, to remind us that they are lucky bastards and get to play the game before us. Still, nice to get some perspective on things like sideways Wiimote control (they mostly seemed to prefer it over the Classic Controller).

As mentioned in my comic thread, IGN put up some Smash Bros gameplay videos. The game looks great, and I like the interface. It looks eerily similar to a fanmade mockup I saw a few months ago. I love how Diddy's sound effects consist of regular chimpanzee noises. I've always wanted to beat up a monkey!

Also, apparently Metaknight is really good.

Dang. I was planning to try making Metaknight my new favored character, but now everyone knows he rocks. At this point they may tone him down for balance sake.

Oh yeah, one more thing: Samus's level has rising lava. Again.

    But... my birthday...

    MY BIRTHDAY IS RUINED.

It hopped to 3 days after mine!
I missed a lot in my travels!

    Also...Wii post ftw.

Well, New Pork City and its Ultimate Chimera look awesome.

Meowth loses for standing on two legs.

MEOWTH! MEOWTH! MEOWTH! MEOWTH! MEOWTH! MEOWTH! MEOWTH! MEOWTH! MEOWTH!

I'm rather pleased about that. Oh yes.

    Loses.

I though he was one of the better ones in the original, beaten by beedrill and onyx, of course.

Since each character can also switch colors pre-fight, Nintendo took the opportunity to seamlessly include Dark Link as one of the character options. He fights the same, but looks totally badass, which is a must.

Wasn't that (the bwst part, not the color) decided when it was announced?

    Dedede?
Never thought they'd put in two new Kirby characters.

Also, Meta Knight and Dedede suck, cause we've already been able to play as them.
  • edited October 2007
King Dedede is a pimp and I'm glad they added another heavyweight character to go along with Bowser and Monkey Kong.

I betcha he'll be a boss in story mode before you can play as him

They're introducing characters at an alarming rate! We still don't know Lucas' special moves! Or half of Wario's...

I'm glad that more hero characters are getting appropriate villain counterparts. Let's see some Ridley, King K. Rool, Blue (rival Pokémon trainer), Medusa, Waluigi (a stretch, I know, but I just love his DDR dance moves), Dr. Robotnik, Revolver Ocelot, and, uh... any other suggestions?

How about a PROPER Gannondorf? None of this Captain Falcon clone nonsense.

Or what about Wolf? I was never a fan of Fox/Falco in melee, but if they made wolf have his own moveset, he could be cool.

Well, since they seem to be eliminating doubles like pichu, maybe he'll be replaced by Ganon?

I don't think the Pictochat stage could be complete with out a penis doodle to climb on.
  • edited October 2007
I'm hoping there'll be an option to draw stuff for that level.
  • edited October 2007
That would be sweet. I suppose the Wii could connect to a DS' PictoChat and pretend to be a fellow PictoChat client, then upload its drawings to the Brawl arena in real-time. I very much doubt this is going to happen, but it sure sounds like fun.

That was the first thing I thought about when I saw that level.

So, some people on a local radio show were saying they think Sora from Kingdom Hearts could be a character, because Yoko Shimomura is a musician for Brawl, and he composed the Kingdom Hearts music. I think this could be something to keep an eye on.
  • edited October 2007
I thought about that when I saw the composers, at first I didn't really want Sora in because of how much the Square fanboys/girls would blow it out of proportion, like they always do. But now I think he'd be a decent brawler, given the right moveset.

Someone sent this to me, thought it was interesting.

If its accurate, that would mean that Krystal is appearing in some form, either Assist Trophy or as a playable character. Somehow, she doesn't seem to be AT material though, so I'm betting on playable character.

god, what awesome local radio show talks about Smash Bros. Brawl? I greatly envy you.
