Wait, so you had dumplings for breakfast and dinner?? Did you have it for lunch too?

    Sounds fantastic!

I did! I had dumplings for two meals today! Not for lunch though, my cafeteria doesn't serve them.

Dang. I REALLY need to get a picture of my computer in its current state before I get my actual case. It's too funny like it is to go unremembered.

I am listening to Carmina Burana for the first time in years. This is awesome.

My first year of grad school is finished successfully! Granted, I still have to write a paper for a class that I semi-audited, but I have all summer to do it and no other academic or teaching-related activities! SCORE! Massive gaming will ensue.

It helps when you know what they're actually singing about.

I got my super-overpriced computer case today. My ghetto rig is now a bit more neat and tidy and in a proper box and stuff. Also, I took pictures of the computer before I took it out of the old case frame. I'll try to post in my other comp thread in due time. For now, sleep.

I'm using internet at work right now! It's way more fun when you're getting paid to slack off.

Noob. I've been doing that for over a year now.

My typical day is spent driving all around the island in a truck. This is very special.

I really really want to go camping too. Or some other outdoorsy activity! I'm too tired of the urban, indoor, normal stuff I do on weekends. I have been thinking for a month now about taking a trip to a near beach from which you travel 15 minutes to a little town from which you board some little boats that take you to an isle in which you can see FREAKING RIVER DOLPHINS AND A THOUSAND FRIGATEBIRDS.

I did this yesterday! Afterwards we went to an incredible beach. We also visited my girlfriend's grandmother's house which has been abandoned for some 20 years and now is inhabited by goats. There were baby goats that were only 15 days old! All in all I saw:

River dolphins, pink herons and some regular white herons, a ton of pigs, baby goats, hermit crabs, this sort of sea star that's not actually a sea star but sort of round with what appears to be a flower or a sea star 'drawn' in the center, regular baby crabs (catching them and then releasing them was very fun), and some stupid wasps following me around. It was a very cool day.

I'm working from home. I'm not sure if this counts as success, but I feel like I need something to feel successful about.
  • edited May 2009
It's a definite success compared to my not working from an office.

I'm on my way home from Iraq! Right now I'm in Qatar. When I get home I have two weeks off from work during which I can recreate my life. Will I find another love? Will I find adventure? Will I waste my time? Who knows!?
  • edited May 2009
Cool! Does that mean you're going to continue work from the US?

    My beer came out awesome!
  • edited May 2009
Are you implying you made beer (Ryan) or that you through it up (meh)?
  • edited May 2009
I made beer, and it fermented into awesome. and I'm not Ryan.

I installed Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries on an old Windows XP computer using an unofficial patch. Crude, shitty 3D accelerated graphics never looked so good. Back in the day, my old 233Mhz K6 computer could barely do 16-bit graphics let alone the full 3D accelerated setup.

Now even an old junker computer a friend of mine got for free a couple years ago can run it all out, silky smooth so easily it'd practically be yawning. Or maybe laughing at the clusters of crude textured boxes and planes that make up the entire game.

I have a piece on display at the Arts Centre. Like, a gallery! with other art! It's a little lumpy and big, but I'm proud of it.

Just you wait! one of these days I'll commandeer a whole room for my art there!

At the gym tonight I worked out my bench while listening to the God of War soundtrack.
