I'm getting annoyed with the bad grammer...and to repeat Behemoth's question....are you asking about layers?
  • edited October 2006
should I keep it as is or change it?
  • edited October 2006
Ok, look: if you don't start making sense soon, nobody's ever going to be able to help and we'll all just start ignoring you.

Kirby, ask the whole question again, from the beginning, and try to rephrase it a bit.

    which bakground should I use

or just leave it the way it is
  • edited October 2006
Oh. The first one is too blurry and the house should have a roof. Looks like crap all around. Delete it. The second one is too small. Remember that you have to put characters and text on top of the background, and even if you double size the second one, you still won't have near enough room.

    Use neither.

so stick with what I'm doing then
  • edited October 2006
No, find something new that fits the aforementioned criteria; big and clear. Trying to find backgrounds from a game that was designed for such a small screen may not be the best strategy. You may have to rip backgrounds from a different game.

but this is a story line game though. Actually that comic is the last except for my contest entry that will be in that same map for a while
  • edited October 2006
What you all failed to mention is that he can just resize the background to make it not blurry, e.g.

    thezoomedinviewaa4.gif

    Obviously, not that big though
  • edited October 2006
Yup...and also, perspective changes are cool.

    how about the contest entryproject%201.gif
  • edited October 2006
    It is still...too...small!

Look, here is a tip, which i use when i make sprite comics: make them big, like each frame 640x480, then scale it down without anti-aliasing by about 400%, that will make it better

    I don't see any difference.

No, the text in the second is a little blurrier.
  • edited October 2006
The first one is 300x339 and the second is 320x360.
EDIT OF: OK, here's what you gotta do: first; resize all of your sprites to 200% of their current size, then add the balloons and text.
    project2.gif
NEXT: make sure word bubbles are properly placed in order of who is speaking first. It is ok to draw longer tails to connect the speaker to their corresponding bubble. The important thing is that the reader knows who is speaking and what is being said in what order.project3.gif
THEN: re-read what you have written and make any necessary grammatical corrections.

Yeha, but you're forgetting something. Now the sprites have to be resized that much or else they will look too small compared to their surroundings.

I second Behemoth. At the very least, fix your grammar (it's spelled grammar, Agentcel :P ). If you have crappy grammar and typos in your dialogue, then no one is going to care to read it.

    StV-"YOUR IN HELL"
  • edited October 2006
See, I was doing what Behemoth did, but I got bored halfway through.
  • edited October 2006
What the hell was the point of that post, Agentcel? Because I can't see it beyond trying to start trouble, and there's no need for that.
  • edited October 2006
yes this about my webcomic and it problems and me (trying) to fix them

    *slaps himself*

    Right! On-topicness!

Okay, there is one thing you've got to do, Kirby, that they haven't mentioned. Use different backgrounds in different comics sometimes...it'll help out with interestingness. Also...there's more (Okay, so I lied :p). You're going to want to use some sort of perspective change. Exapmle:

    exampleyy5.png

This is obviously overall a poor comic, but a good exapmle nonetheless. Oh, and also: never resize sprites except for on a scale that is a multiple of 100%.
  • edited October 2006
Although, you can resize to scales of Pi or e, because it's mathematically awesome.
  • edited October 2006
Don't resize to factors of i though, because the result will be quite imaginary.

As for the background thing... You're doing a Pokémon comic, so that's generally bad advice for you. You've got your game backgrounds, and that's it. If you try mixing things up, you get something completely horrible. The only way the background advice can help you is to stop focusing your comic on the damn bedroom. In the game you're in there for a minute tops, they should at least be outside the house by now. Get them the fudge out of the bedroom and get on with the story.

But what if it's a love story?
  • edited October 2006
What? Love stories never take place in bedro-- oh. Oh. Eew.

That was more of my point.

But what if it's a love story?

Then use adults instead of 12 year olds.
