The new games are great. The 3D models look a lot nicer than I expected, and they're using a ton of pokemon from all generations, which surprised me since the press before the release showed almost exclusively 6th-gen monsters (aside from those mega evolutions).
I've heard people using the downloaded version of the game are getting their saves corrupted if they save outdoors in the big Paris-type city, so watch out for that.
Also I noticed that they've given Bubble the same attack strength as Water Gun, apparently by mistake. Water Gun is now pointless because Bubble has more PP and hits multiple targets in double battles.
Do NOT save in the streets of Lumiose City. When you restart the game sometimes it never renders the city, and don't let you move till it renders, ruining your save file forever.
Funny story, I saved in Lumiose City, but didn't quit, and then read about the bug, and tried to leave but my friends kept bugging me to hang out at the cafe with them or stuff like that. I got out, saved on route 5, and then quit. Luckily my save wasn't corrupted.
I like how I have a starter of each type, almost by accident. I didn't know about the special Torchic until I tried registering my game for Club Nintendo and I saw the insert about it.
I don't play with the pokémons...Still playing Terraria. Which I think is on sale at 75% off today, so if anyone was looking to try that one, it's cheap today.
I suspect I'll never quite get around to trying to "catch 'em all" though. Getting into Pokémon isn't like sitting and watching through an old tv series or something by my figuring.
Yes, it does patch, though their system for it is pretty odd. It's fairly avoidable anyways, just go into a building or something and save there.
Yeah I don't think it's just saving that does it. It's the game failing the load the area when it starts up again. Though I did save there earlier, and it didn't break on me either. It might have something to do with the render distance since I was standing right in front of a building instead of looking out into the street.
Other people randomly seem to not have the problem as well. And sometimes they can get it to load by hitting the home button and then going back into the game. Seems sorta randomish, but better to be safe than sorry.
I assume it wasn't caught in testing because it doesn't happen all the time and because most of the time you save in a pokemon center or the field you happened to be catching pokemon in when you had to leave to do something.
I feel like it's either rendering the buildings is odd, or something to do with how you can turn and thus be anywhere and off the normal grid without skates or a bike.
Everybody needs to play Lord of the Rings online. It's even more fun after the most recent update. We still have a fun kinship going. Come join us on Withywindle.

Don't save in the blue area.
They say they're working on a patch.
And lemme' tell you, that game is glitchy as hell.
