    How I feel sometimes:

It's scary sometimes. Sometimes I think the spambots come here to advertise to other spambots.

My ultimate solution for the spambot problem is to moderate all incoming users before they can post. Since we don't really get any new users here nowadays I don't think it'll be an issue, but if any of you refer your friends to stop by, send me a PM with their username and I'll make sure they get through.

Beyond that, my primary vetting method is whether their username is dumb. Spambots always have dumb usernames.

And many a person with a crappy forum name wept.

In all for realzes though, sounds like a good idea to me.

At this point it'd probably work.

I see my spambot-vetting method as a Turing Test. The first spambot to get through will be granted full personhood and posting rights on this forum.

    But Mario, don't you see?
    We are all spambots!

We need to get George Takei down on this shit. Only outdated memes can save us!

KemoJettemo has no tact at all! Lamest spambot in a while.

Heh, a long time ago I set it up so that the Dot Matrix forum allowed guest user posts. I figured it'd be a way to get commenters from outside of the community to participate. This may have been the first one ever!

Are spambots resorting to PMing us now?

    Yes.

Man, those wily spambots keep coming up with more creative methods of selling us boner pills. I think I've blocked PM rights for non-verified users, hopefully that'll put a stop to it. If you guys get another PM, let me know the username so I can try to figure out which group still has these permissions.
