A user by the name of "Flenialar" sent me a PM entitled "What Everybody Ought to Know About Online Pharmacies". I have my doubts as to whether or not he wants to engage me in legitimate conversation.
Hey, he may be a spambot, but look at those prices he advertises!
At online pharmacies you can find drugs much cheaper. The online pharmacies price can be cheaper from 50 % to 200 %. Such a big difference is possible due to low expenses of online pharmacies.
Hey man! Flenialar is a close personal friend of mine who's totally a human. Are you suggesting you aren't open to the wares he peddles at criminally insane prices?!
I see how it is, spambots only target certain members.
No no, that's totally cool. I understand how it is, some people just need to know about medical products. Some of us are just left to fend for ourselves.
So seriously, what's with all the Chinese related spam bots? Does a large amount of spam naturally come from China, or have I inadvertently brought them here through my own incompetence?
Am I the only one who sees remnants of what was a bot by the name "uggsgogo"? The posts are referenced on the main pages, but the posts are gone from the threads and the user appears to not actually be there.
That was my bad. Tried to use a different method of mass deletion due to the volume of uggsgogo's posts (pruning), but it apparently leaves all the references to said posts in each thread and forum. I haven't found any way to clean it out.
The true solution, of course, is for you guys to make on-topic post replies in each and every one of those threads so their recently-updated statuses are accurate. Hop to it!
In today's lesson, we learn how to spot a bot.
First, let us look at the profile of the latest user, gallerignirus:
Biography:
Man
Location:
Norway
Interests:
gallerignirus
Occupation:
Norway
First we see that in place of a biography it simply says "Man". Wow. How could we possible argue with that logic? Yeah, use of this exact bio is a sure sign that the user is not actually a man at all, but a bot. Or an alien invader. Ban them!
Next we see the location, Norway. This is actually plausible at least. It's not within our usual area, but what if they really were from Norway? This isn't damning, so moving on...
Interests are...gallerignirus? Hmmm. Either we have ourselves a bot or this person is incredibly narcissistic. I'm not sure which is worse, but this is a strong indicator that this "person" doesn't belong here. Ban them!
Finally, the Occupation field is Norway. Wait, what? Isn't that the same thing as the location? A location isn't an occupation! That's like saying your job is simply to exist! Either we have a bot or this is the most boring person in the world and letting them post would lead to us all being bored to death. If they are really going to have the same thing for location and occupation you best ban them!
This concludes todays lesson on obvious ways to spot a bot (or other less-than-stellar individuals).
That makes no sense as an occupation. Norway, on the other hand, is a perfectly logical and profitable venture, and I encourage all interested parties to consider it as their next career move.

'Cause you're a pretty horrible person.
Just thought I'd put that out there.
I'm just saying...
And the fact that I have a cold right now does nothing to discredit my claim of a superior immune system!

Also, sometimes bots mix it up a little and use their username as an occupation in some sort super-narcissism.
