I found lots of stories I could post in the fucked up news thread, but I'm not re-typing them all again.
I also found some articles in weird place. In the internation news section, I found one out of place article about a car crash in PA. Why that wasn't in the national news section, I can only assume is a small bug in the system.
So I'm not really recognizing most of the games that are coming out for the VC...hope for the future I guess? I wonder if the dream team of SNES RPGs will ever come to my Wii...
In the meantime, anyone have any insight on any of these obscure games that are already out, like if they're any good?
That's what Mario Kart DS is for. And I demand Star Fox 64, dammit! I needs to do me some barrel rolls!
And I don't trust this blog about Mario Kart 64 coming out, anyway. If it came from a press release issued by Nintendo, why don't they cite the source so we can all see?

"Trust your instincts! Do a barrel roll!"
-"But my instincts don't tell me to do a barr-"
"DO A BARREL ROLL, DAMMIT!"
Also, I am, or at least was, a master of Mario Kart 64. People would get pissed at me in battles as I casually ran over their banana peels on purpose and never lost a balloon from it.
Actually, if you spend a total of thirty consecutive hours racing with one car over and over again, hitting every banana you can find, your car will become able to drive over them without slipping.
I too saw the pulsating light when I woke up this morning. The News channel seems like a lot of fun, but I wish it was a little more robust. I'd like the ability to subscribe to different channels and see when they're updated, or possibly perform news searches (like typing in "Pokémon" and seeing if there are any press releases regarding the release of Diamond/Pearl version, for example). More extensive categories would be a nice touch too. But the globe-trotting mode is good fun.
Actually, if you run over a banana peel while going straight forward, you won't spin out immediately. You'll slip around a little bit, and if you hit the brake during that, you won't spin out.
I'd like to play you X, I too, am or was at one point, a master of Mario Kart 64.
Also a friend of mine with a Wii already downloaded and has been playing Mario 64. I had no idea it wasn't out yet.

Don't forget that this is apparently like the beta version of the channel, and it will probably receive updates at one point, so RSS'ing and searching might occur soon enough

A guy at the local Walmart accidently told me they're getting 29 Wii's tomorrow, so I'm gonna be there before the store opens. Nobody else knows, since the fliers are going out tomorrow. Thankfully, it wont be sub-zero weather, like yesterday.
Aha! So that's why I got conflicting information. In my initial search last Monday some guy said there would be something big at the end of the month, but when I went to the store to further inquire they said they didn't know anything about it. Jerkasses! Good thing luck was on my side and GameGame had one for me.
And you know, even though Wiis are scarce, I'm still happy for Nintendo and that innovation is still an important force in gaming today.
Oh yeah, good luck on getting your Wii! What game(s) are you going to get with it?
Due to the fact that I ordered an NES and some games recently, I'm going to have just enough money for the Wii itself. Unfortunately this means I'm stuck with just Wii Sports untill my birthday. The good news is, my birthday is the 18th.
Legend of Zelda, Mario, and Final Fantasy. Yeah, I know I can get most of those on the virtual console, but I didn't think I would be able to get a Wii this soon. Besides, It's better to be able to say you have games like that in cartridge form.
I dunno, I've found one of the best strengths of the Virtual Console titles to be the Quick Save feature; if you jump to the Wii Menu in mid-game, the next time you play you'll pick up right where you left off. This has been a breath of fresh air in some older titles that lacked any save feature (Bonk's Adventure) or had crappy password-save functions (Ecco the Dolphin).
Those are my only two VC games so far, on account of having a working NES and SNES, as well as a few classic game compilations for GameCube (Zelda Collector's Edition and Sonic Mega Collection), though my now-lack of an N64 would definitely make some of those purchases a possibility, once they add some of the more important titles (can I get a "Super Smash Bros."? And also an "amen"?).
YES!!! I got a wii, and managed to borrow some money from my mom so I could get an extra Wii-mote, nunchuk, and Excite Truck! I would've gotten Zelda, but It already got ordered for my birthday. Time to go sit in my basement for the rest of the day!

EDIT: there we go.
I'm downloading the update now.
I'm impressed with the news channel. It seems quite comprehensive, although I only had a minute or two to look at it.

If you don't buy it, you are a sinner, sodomizer, and you probably support terrorism.
But honestly, R-Type looks cool. Try it out.
EDIT: Mario Kart 64 is already out in the UK. Not buying it unless nintendo add online multiplayer.

No thanks, I'm not that dedicated.
