    Where'd you get that?
  • edited January 2007
I'm assuming you mean the font. Hamelin directed me to blambot a while back. It's great site with free comic-y fonts.

    EDIT:

I was going to mkae a new thread about this, but I don't feel like cluttering up the conservatory any further. I realize that my writing in my comics completely sucks. And...I was wondering if anyone would want to create a joint comic with me, as my writer. I think if I teamed up with a writer, we'd be able to make a fairly awesome comic.

    DOUBLE EDIT/UPDATE:

I've been ready online mangas, and I've been practicing my comicing skills again. Here's just something I did a couple hours ago:

    Am I at least improving?

I say it all the time: draw trees, fish, and hands from real life. Also people? From real life!

    Okay Mr.Filleau!

    DEL-TACO?

Any suggestions on how to improve?

Needs more of your penis inside of her.

Also, draw it again and again. Only three times.

Then find something else to draw in triplicate.

    PRACICE, MAN! PRACTICE!

Offhand, the lips look a little amiss, I think.
  • edited January 2007
I still need to work on making it look like her as well. I think I might have to go into way more of a sketchy style to get her to look right. =/

Whatever you decide to do, make sure you practice and practice frequently.

    Man, it's been a while.

That's a lot of commas for one speech bubble.
  • edited February 2007
    Fix'd! Thanks for that.
  • edited February 2007
That's a lot of periods for one speech bubble.
  • edited February 2007
three really big periods usually work pretty good.
  • edited February 2007
See, I've always been more of an "if they're not saying anything, they don't actually need a bubble at all" kinda guy. I guess that's what I was hinting at.
  • edited February 2007
Yeah, I'm kind of stupid like that. I'm trying to take your guys' advice and let the expressions tell the story instead of using too much dialouge. I'm getting pretty good at drawing Twilight Princess Link if I say so myself. Reeeaally lazy coloring here, think of it as more of a "sketch with a touch of color":

  • edited February 2007
Heh, the way you wrote dialogue makes me think of a TV Show called Gimme Gimme Gimme, where one of the protagonists often mis-pronounced it as dialouge. With a sort of long soft G that sounds a bit like a J as opposed to a hard g

I tried using some fancy "e-fects" for Kakariko. Also, it was great prespective practice. Still isn't that great though. =/

Where's the boulder with the heart piece?
  • edited March 2007
It's behind the house with the round roof, I believe. This veiw is looking from the spring.
  • edited March 2007
Too much blur. Probably not a good way to get that effect.
  • edited March 2007
Contrary-wise, I like the blur, good art, too. I guess thats a place in a Zelda game, I wouldn't know, I but I like the spindly legged architecture, and broken down look of the place.

Edit: Thanks to mario for helping me out. Kind of.

Double Edit/Post: The above link didn't work, my video was rejected because it was too long. Here's some others!

Well, it's been a while since I've started this thread, huh? Man. Heh. I don't know if it's just me getting my hopes up, or if I'm actually getting better. When I look back at those first few pages of the comic, I say to myself, wow, I really think this looks like a load of crap! I can't believe I was serious! I know it wasn't that bad, but yet, I feel like I've grown. I try to draw every day in order to get better wether it be in a sketch book or on the computer if I have time. And I feel it's starting to pay off. Take my favorite character ever, Sheik, for example. See the difference:

    Tonight:

See? I feel like my work is more stylized now, instead of copying everyone else. Some day I hope to be like Hlavco, and have an awesome style all my own that's completely unique. I'd just like to thank you guys to help me through the rough times, telling me to keep moving forward. You've been nothing but supportive, AND giving me a lot of criticism that been helpful. So, just keep being awesome.

Aaw, those dots you use as decoration remind me of System 6.

Hm..I was experimenting tonight. With what you ask? Markers! They're actually very good for drawing, and I hadn't even thought of using them... This is the best I came up with:

It's supposed to be me, but the nose is waaay too high. I like the hair though.
  • edited April 2007
    Nice.
  • edited April 2007
You have the same nose as my best friend's sister!

I demand a real-life photo of you for comparative purposes!
  • edited April 2007
You will if he adds you to his buddy list. (Does anyone actually use those?)
  • edited April 2007
Good stuff, I <3 markers, I'm glad you do too
