I thought he slashed in basic directions, as in vertical, horizontal, or spin slashs. I thought that slashs were done by swinging the Wii remote, and if you shook the nunchuck, he's do a spin attack.
You can do various combinations of slashes, thrusts, and the spin attack. However, as Agentcel says, you simply shake the remote. Different kinds of attacks depend on whether you're locked on or not, or if you're moving the control pad or not. So you can still vary your attacks, but it has nothing to do with what direction you swing the Wiimote.
That's what I said. But it's not based on the Wii Remote, so I'm saying that if anyone tells you that the Wii Remote is unresponsive because of the sword fighting, they're wrong. Shaking the remote replaces pressing the A button of previous 3D Zeldas.
Oh in that case let me tell you that the hooded girl is Princess Zelda.
Haha, yeah right. I'm pretty sure that info got out before the game got delayed from its fall launch last year. Plus you find it out the first time you encounter her, which is the first time you even see her in the game, and that happens before you even get your sword and shield! It's just like, Minda: "Hey Link, I wanted you to meet this hooded girl here." Zelda: "Oh, hello. *takes off hood* I'm Princess Zelda." Minda: "Now that you've met Zelda, go find me a sword and shield." So that pretty much disqualifies it as a spoiler.
Anyway, I just entered the Water Temple. But seriously, if we're going to start posting spoilers, might I please ask that anything you want to spoil be posted in the same color as the post background, so that it can only be read if you highlight the text with your mouse? I'd hate to accidentally read a spoiler.
Okay, I haven't even figured out how you change the water level yet (or how to reach the switched that allow for it), and I already hate the Water Temple. Points to Nintendo for keeping with tradition...?
Wow...sounds 'actly like the one from the Ocarina. I'd kill to be you! Just realize how lucky you are...
Meanwhile, I fired up my ol' N64. I'm collecting all the heart pieces in Ocarina of Time, and trying to get all the upgrades. I've already gotten Nayru's Love and the Ice arrows! Why people don't usually finish the game with them I'll never quite understand...
EDIT: OMGs are you serioz!?!!?LOLWTF!!11one. I cAn'T BEliiive you lol. the hoodeded figu is ZeLdA OMG LOL!
DOUBLE EDIT FOR DOUBLE THE FLAVOR: Whew! I got every last heart piece. Two rows of hearts is handy...
TRIPLE EDIT >.<:
want to spoil be posted in the same color as the post background
Since there are different skins, that wouldn't work. I use the SCIENCE! skin, and someone else might use the default skin.
Mwehehehehehe! Now I'm one step closer to world domination!
Oh, and I've got a question for you, Serephel. Highlight the line below here to read it *SPOILERS* Is it just me, or are you also not buying this crap about "Zant"? That's totally Ganondorf.
*END SPOILERS*
Let's see, I am past the Water Temple. That one was kinda difficult at times, because I'd glance over a stalactite that should be blown up or something.
Technically, I'm at the events shortly after Water Temple, but I spent a good deal of time sidequesting, chasing after bugs, poes, heart containers, and finishing the donation sidequest for Malo's shop, among a few others.
And, with regards to your question mjc, wait until you beat the Water Temple.
It's addictive, I have trouble putting it down. The only reason I'm not playing right now is my sister's boyfriend is playing with my Wii.
I already beat the Water Temple. SPOILERS: Yeah, he takes off his mouth guard, but nothing else. That could still be Ganondorf under there, because Minda keeps saying his magic is something other than just their tribe's magic, so it could be the Triforce of Power. We already know that Link has the Triforce of Courage, and the Triforce of Wisdom will be accounted for in due time (depending on how far past the Water Temple you are. I won't say what happens with it, though).
I had trouble with those stupid stalactites too. That, and it took me forever to notice "hey, there are other levers hanging here" in the room with the giant staircase. Then I thought that the boss door was actually a small key door, and scoured the entire dungeon looking for another small key before I finally took a closer look at the lock. I thought that the boss was disappointingly easy, though.
Much more is revealed after the desert, mjc. Good stuff. Not that Zelda games have especially unique and riveting stories, but it's still good.
Really, the bosses here aren't that hard. They're fun, but once you know what the strategy is, they're easy. Plus, boss rooms are loaded with hearts anyways. I've got two bottles of fairies, and I have yet to use them. And I'm not a particularly adept player either.
Is anyone else disappointed with the armor in this game? I've got all three, but I just keep using the original.

Yep, I did that today. Awesome scene there, to make up for the puny little dungeon. I expect more challenge from my desert dungeon, you hear me Nintendo? But I'll forgive you this time.
I haven't gotten the 3rd armor yet, but according to NP, I need to donate insane amounts of Rupees to some guy in Hyrule Castle Town. And while I do plan to go look for Poes and other things next, I'm not about to hang around collecting that much money. But yeah... The Zora armor isn't too useful. Just when you need to go underwater. And it's weak to fire... I don't understand that. Water > Fire.
Overall, I'd say that this game wins the title of best 3D Zelda ever. Ocarina of Time looks like a puny little turd compared to this game.
Desert dungeon is quite fun. The dungeon after that is by far my favorite, though.
I didn't have a problem with rupees, though. If anything, my problem was I always had a full bag, so that donation bin was a great way to get rid of them. Dungeons are always full of rupee treasure boxes, and I always destroy every pot or box that I can.
Better than OoT? We'll see how the game wraps up. It's certainly got a great shot, but I've played too many games that butchered the ending of an otherwise great game.
I could care less about the ending as long as the game plays well. Golden Sun taught me that. Great game, but the ending was so bad that I almost didn't go on to play the second game. I was borrowing it from a friend so I deleted the save and gave it back to him, but he asked me to go back and play again because he wanted the clear data from my game. So I did, and realized "screw the ending, this game is fun and I'm going to play the second one."
And I actually had the problem of not enough rupees at the start, and I'm also kind of conservative about spending them. Who knows what I might need to buy next? I gotta stop keeping a full bag because I loose a lot more rupees this way. At least they make you put them back in the treasure chests if your wallet is full. Gotta give Nintendo props for that move.
Hey Serephel and Mjc, what are the enimies like? Are there a load of new ones...or are they mostly older ones? Also, what are the new ones' attacks and such?
6 exciting videos! Recaps of all your favorite games! Wild speculation on a somewhat plausible timeline for the games! Yayzorz!
EDIT:...although, now that I think about it, I really don't like their explanation of the split-timeline theory. I'm a firm Multiple Link/Zeldas over expanses of time adherent!
I enjoyed the videos, but seriously, Wind Waker is the only game to address the "Zelda timeline" issue at all, and it's pretty clear that it's a different Link. Previous to that, Nintendo didn't care at all about establishing a timeline.
I expected to just LOL at the timeline speculation in the videos, but they did a pretty good job of explaining the stuff, and it's not their fault that the source material was what it was.
Well, that made it sound like you already had the first two.
Oh. Armor. At the time I was completely confused as what the hell you meant by "armer." My bad.
And besides The Wind Waker proving that there are different Links and Zeldas, we also know for sure that Zelda II came after The Legend of Zelda, and that Majora's Mask came after Ocarina of Time. Those two Links are the same Link in each set of games. The cool thing about The Wind Waker, though, is that it's really vauge as to how far it was from Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask. They can through any number of adventures for Link in between there (like Twilight Princess) and it still makes sense.
Oh yeah. Minish Cap also goes before Four Swords, which goes before Four Swords Adventures. They need a game between Minish Cap and Four Swords, though, because Minish Cap's ending was very unsatisfying. And obviously, Phantom Hourglass fits in after The Wind Waker. And the CDi games rot in the darkest depths of the Sacred Realm where even Ganondorf can't find their most powerful brand of evil.

You son of a bitch! Now It's ruined forever.
Nope. I use the skin with the map in the background, but whenever I come into this section, it forces the SCIENCE! skin upon me.

I know! The third armer!
I didn't even know I had any of these armers.
Well, that made it sound like you already had the first two.
Sacrilege!
