Did anyone else think of the song "Ridin' Spinners" near the end of the desert temple?

Yes!!! The first thing I said when I got it was "I'm ridin spinnaz!!!"

As for the enemies, there are the regular Moblins, Stalfos, and others redone in pretty 3D, but there are a good deal of new ones too. Some of them require a little bit of strategy to beat. I enjoy fighting. The sub boss in dungeon 6 was awesome, as you got to use all of the fighting technique's you've learned up to this point on one enemy.

Wow..I watched that movie on the splot timeline theory! It's just..so...solid. It pretty much gives great examples to back itself up. That was a load of fun to watch.

Also: Thanks for the enemy preview.

Yeah, it was good for a one on one fight, but have you been in that fighting cave in the Gerudo Desert? I got to a room where you fight two of them and they kicked my ass. Every time you set up for a move on one, the other one gets in and smacks you. Link's body had a name that day, and it was "pain".

I might have missed the fighting cave in the Gerudo desert. Was it part of the dungeon, or was it a hidden area?
  • edited November 2006
*spoilers* Hidden area. If you found the piece of the bridge and warped it back, the cave was hidden under that.
  • edited November 2006
Gahh! Spoilers!!! Fix it, damn it!
  • edited November 2006
That's not a spoiler. A spoiler is something that ruins the story. The above was a gameplay tip. I assure you that by the time you find the piece of the bridge, you'll have warped enough items to know immediately what you need to do.

I updated the thread title, because I just got this game and don't like reading gameplay strategies or plot revelations. Both are spoilers.
  • edited November 2006
Okay then, I guess I'll go back and mark that as a spoiler.

Completely random question, but I just noticed this... What the hell is that bomb on the right side of the quick reply box for?! I don't dare click it for fear of blowing up the thread.
  • edited November 2006
Wow, I certainly did miss that. Thanks.
  • edited November 2006
No problem. *spoilers?* Enjoy the topless fairy.

The bomb takes away the quick-reply form.

    Oh. Thanks.

I kicked Zant's ass today. *spoilers* So he wasn't Ganondorf after all, but he did have Ganondorf's power. I was about half right. Also, Zant really sucks at fighting.

I'm still at the end of the game, but I've got loads of sidequesting to do. I imagine after another 20 hours of fishing, bug catching, poe hunting, heart container completing, and nook/cranny exploring, I'll be ready to take it on.

That dungeon under the bridge in Gerudo was fun. I was expecting a bit more of a prize at the end, though.

Wow, Midna sure pushed you through those last dungeons. I was expecting more of the "do all this to get in" stuff like the other dungeons, but its more like "okay we got that item now go here and guess what new dungeon already!"

I gotta leave the last dungeon and do some more sidequesting. Like kicking that STAR game guy's ass again.

Also, the third armor is very disapointing.

The boss of the last dungeon (7?) was kind of disappointing. He was fun to fight, but his pattern was too easy. I never got hit.

The dungeon under the bridge in Gerudo is a nice gauntlet run. The third armor is actually helpful here, because so many monsters drop rupees. I used it in a few rooms and recouped losses fairly quickly.

Star game is gonna be my bitch if I ever have time to play it this weekend. I've still got 24 poes to track down, and I've got to find about five more bugs. And don't get me started on the 20+ heart containers I'm guessing I'm missing.

It will be much more rewarding to do it without looking at Gamefaqs.

I used the third armor in that cave and I went from 500+ rupees to 0 in only 3 rooms (taking it off when I don't need it, of course). And I thought the room with two darknuts was bad... Then they thew a darknut and two of the minibosses from the City in the Sky at you. Bleh. My ass has been handed to me yet again. I think my reward should be the right to give that fairy a haircut if I ever make it to the bottom. Not that polygons turn me on, but by golly I deserve something more than what I think I get for it.

And do you mean, the final final dungeon? End of the game final dungeon? Because I haven't finished that yet. But the one before... Yeah, fun fight but he was a rather pathetic fighter.

Yeah. It reveals in Nintendo Power this month that "after Zant is defeated, you have one more person to fight before the kingdom is saved." Guess whooooo...
  • edited December 2006
Nintendo Power can reveal all they want, for I have already saved Hyrule. Granted, I still have some Heart Pieces, bugs, and Poes to collect, but all the evil ones have been smited by my mighty blade. Oh, and I need to find the last sword skill. :P

They could also try preforatting their posters so you can actually get them out. There's a sweet Twilight Princess poster in here, but I'd have to get scissors to cut it out.

And the stickers. Mine ripped when I tried to take them out.
  • edited December 2006
I have no interest in the stickers, though. Nowhere to stick them.

Actually with the Twilight Princess poster, they had the little rippy-thingies. You know what I mean? LKike in your notebooks. It made it a clean rip for me. It's hanging in my bedroom while I patiently wait for Christmas...

    Perforation.

The final sword skill is not that great. It's okay, but I was expecting a bit more.

    Spoiler on finding last skill:
Did you check the bandit's hideout?

    Mine severly lacks preforations.

    Spoiler on finding last skill:

Yeah, I found it. Thanks anyway. That sword skill is pretty useless. I was expecting something like that, but one you charge first, like the jump strike.

Now, to a slightly more aged Zelda game!

As you may remember, my roommate and I are playing through all the Zelda games in order. I beat the first one first and have moved onto the second but I don't have the instruction manuals so I don't actually know how to cast magic. And I just got to a part that I can't get past unless I use a bit 'o spell casting.

So my question is! How do I cast magic?

EDIT: Haha, never mind, I figuered it out. Hooray for select!
  • edited December 2006
That took me a while to figure out as well :p
  • edited December 2006
It's kind of funny. I remember when games never had little controller tutorials at the beginning. We didn't need them, we only had 4 buttons. When you started a game you pressed all the buttons and saw what happened.

Reminds me of the first time I played a Playstation... My brother and I were playing Twisted Metal 2 and he keep using the machine guns and I kept starting over and picking the car he just had because I wanted the machine guns. Never occured to me to try the other shoulder button. :p

Oh cool. My Player's Guide got here for TP (only renewal bonus for Nintendo Power that I'd even have a use for at the time) and it also had an official Soundtrack disc. Since the Wii doesn't play CD's, I'll have to use it in my PS2. ... Nah. PC wins again!

That's part of the reason I was getting so frustrated. I actually turned to my roommate and yelled, "There's only 4 buttons and a control pad! How is it that I can't figure this out?!"
