I took the Master Sword (blade of evil's bane) being planted in the main villian's skull as a pretty good indication that he's dead. Especially after losing the Triforce of Power.

Hopefully Phantom Hourglass will let us know for sure.

Never assume something to be the case when it isn't explicitly stated. That's called fanfiction, and it has no place in a serious timeline theory.

I seem to recall skewering Ganon in the face with the Master Sword in OoT like a shishkebab, but he was very clearly alive and sealed in the Sacred Realm in the next cutscene.

Who said I was talking about a timeline? I'm simply saying that he's dead at the end of the game. It's not like I said "Ganondorf is dead so that means the Oracle games come next because they try to revive him there."

I don't recall skewering Ganon at the end of OoT, either. I remember Link slashed his face a lot, and then the sages took that moment to seal Ganon in the Sacred Realm before he could draw more power from his Triforce and keep fighting.

He slashed and slashed, then stabbed straight down his gullet.

That's my favorite part of the game, mainly because I can just trot around Ganon while trash talking him, then do the coup de grace to the face.

I'll have to replay that from my handy "at Ganon's tower" save file to see again, because I honestly don't remember the stab.

4.What of the sages? Why did they not help like the light sprits did? And, where they the ones from the Ocarina of Time?

    5. How was Ganondorf able to twili-warp? Was he able to control the power of the twilight?

6.HOW THE HELL DID GANONDORF GET OUT OF THE SACRED REALM?

    2. No.
    3. Why not?
    4. Maybe they thought they might mess up again? And considering they all look the same, they're probably not the OoT ones.
    5. Triforce of Power.
    6. Zant helped him out somehow.

spoiler The Triforce of Power image disappeared from his hand because he was too weak to draw more power.

Okay, fighting Ganondorf right now. Let me just say that after Twlight Princess, aiming the bow and arrow with a control stick just doesn't cut it. And he sneezed on me. That's sick.

Pssh. That wasn't nearly as stabbity as The Wind Waker. It's pretty much just in his mouth, and most of the blade isn't even in. And then Link pulls it right back out. TWW's stab goes right through his brain, buried to the hilt of the blade, and stays there. Based on that, I'm gonna keep my money on Ganondorf being pretty dead and the end of The Wind Waker for now. We'll see if Phantom Hourglass proves me wrong.

    Best. Damn. Music. Ever.

A Link to the Past is an amazing game, and it might be my new favorite.

    EDIT: Ohnos!

a serious timeline theory... That's called fanfiction.

Seriously, Nintendo couldn't be less concerned with telling a larger story in Zelda games, or making any kind of cohesive timeline.

    Zelda... serious... timeline... cohesive???

    *head explodes*

Sorry for the SUPER-BUMP, but Phantom hourglass comes out tomorrow!
    It will be so awesome.
    Like, 3-dz on teh DSes.

Also, mario, you should change it to say "Phantom Hourglass SPOILER ALERT" tomorrow.

I think you can edit it, too.

I don't believe so. At least I don't recall being able to edit the title on threads without mod powers even if you made them. I had that problem before.

Psh, I've already got it. The graphics are really good, considering it's on the DS.

Well, so far so good. I'm trying to not use any guides at all, and haven't so far.

I just beat SPOILERZ: The ghost ship, and I'm on my way to the Ocean Temple again.
This game is a lot harder than I anticipated.
  • edited October 2007
I beat it! With no help! I feel accomplished. I'm still missing two heart containers, about 10 gems, and a looooot of ship parts.

Time travel in this game is like Animal Crossing, without the consequences! :D

    Yes and no.

You must have the good bee. It is an absolute requirement.

EDIT: And I don't want any of your damn "Golden Bee" Nonesense! Next thing you know you'll be telling me that the big fairies want to "soothe" your wounds instead of "sooth"!

So I started playing NES Legend of Zelda, via Animal Crossing and an Action Replay*, and aside from being totally lost I have one question: Does the game autosave or something? The only time I see a "Save" option is when I get killed, and I don't wanna have to die every time I want to get off the game.

*It's not cheating if that's the only way to access it!
  • edited July 2008
You can access the save screen without dying by pausing, then plugging in a second controller and hitting Up+A. This still requires you to spirit back to the cave, but is a little quicker than killing yourself.

Or you could pick up the game for Virtual Console, which does the emulator equivalent of a screen freeze whenever you quit back to the Wii's home screen.
  • edited July 2008
    Second controller? Pretty sneaky, sis.
  • edited July 2008
I remember the collector's edition having some sort of saving option, but i only found it after I had been killing myself over and over to save. Haven't played it in a while though, I might be wrong.
  • edited July 2008
Real men do it all in one sitting.
