You can make it unlearn HMs by going to a special guy.

How is that abusing the system? People are willingly trading their legendary Pokémon for needed Eevees. An Eevee can be breeded again and again to give you five additional PokéDex entries, whereas Palkia and Dialga are dead-end in terms of PokéDex completion. It's not abuse because they always have the choice to not go through with the trades.

Also, legendary Pokémon are boring. When I'm all leveled up, I'll gladly kick your ass with Pokémon I've trained painstakingly from wee babes.

I'm training an Eevee out of an egg into a kick-ass Espeon!

By the way, Serephel owned me in a battle the other day. I think it was like 2-6...or maybe 1-6...

What the hell are the legendary Pokemon supposed to be anyway?
  • edited May 2007
The legendary Pokémon are unique individuals, species with only one member. Though that all goes to hell story-wise when you link up to another DS and have a Dialga vs. Dialga battle. The legendaries are also severely over-powered Pokémon, to the point where most so-called "pro" battlers just have teams full of them, thus ensuring many a victory. I'm hoping that after progressing a little further, I'll be able to amass the knowledge I need to build up legendary killers.

It's a hobby of mine. I had a downright nasty Smeargle back in Crystal.

None of my pokemon fell, but my Aerodactly came really close, mostly because I accidentally electrocuted and paralyzed it with my Luxray ^_^

Legendaries are still fun to play with. I'll get my personal Dialga up to 100 just because I like it, but in wifi battles I use mostly other Pokemon. My current team needs a little more variety, but it gets the job done. The other Dialga and Palkia are going to be used as Pokemon Currency to obtain other rare stuff.

Edit: Almost forgot. On the GTS last night I found a lv. 100 Magikarp.

Huh. Could've swore I got Snorlax. Just means I've got training to do :p.

I'm about to go through Victory Road. Any pointers?
Other than, "screw it, rush right through?"

    EDIT: Ok. Thanks.

I too am Surfing my way to the Elite Four. I feel I may need to level up a bit before I progress, but otherwise it's trainer-clobberin' time! The best general advice I can give with any Victory Road is to have a well-balanced team of Pokés. Make sure you've got a strong attack to counter any type the opponent throws at you, and you'll be in good shape.

    Sooo..... I'm pissed.

Supposedly if you go through Pokemon Ranger you get an egg that you can transfer to Diamond/Pearl that will hatch into a Manaphy. So I borrow the game from someone else, go through the whole freakin game, complete all the necessary sidequests.....

And then I find out that only ONE Manaphy egg can be procured from one CARTRIDGE.

And the guy I borrowed it from already got his Manaphy.

So while Serephel was going down Victory Road and such, I was telling myself that all this time drawing circles on my DS was going to get me a Pokemon he didn't have...

And now I can't get it.

    GAY!

No, I get all of that. But they aren't mice or caterpillars or magnets or black women or anything. What are they supposed to evoke?

    Big crazy monsters.

    poke17.jpg

Here's one of the more recent ones.

Some of the legendaries have been elemental birds, one game's legendaries were a big whale-type thing, a big dinosaur-type thing, and this huge sky serpent thing. It's usually something like that.

Not every Pokémon is based on existing animate creatures. Some are based on pinecones.

That's right! You did get Snorlax! I'm sorry, I forgot I battled with him.

Hey, so I'm working on my Pokedex. Does anyone out there have access to the starters from Gold/Silver (Totodile, Cyndaquill, etc), Ho-Oh, or Lugia? I hear you can get those from Pokemon Colosseum, but I never got that far into it.
  • edited May 2007
Hm...I might have some of those mentioned pokemon. Hm...I might have Colloseum, and I might have XD: Gale of Darkness.....you might want to be nice to me.

You couldn't find a picture of a Venusaur?
  • godgod
    edited May 2007
I think he didn't include Venusaur and Umbreon's picture because we already know what they look like. But he should add names to go with those pictures so those of us who don't have the game know what they are.
  • edited May 2007
It's the 4-picture/post limit. And I'll add the other names now too.

I'm refining my team, because I need to replace Kyogre, and I want some newer pokemon. I'm thinking about throwing in a Spiritomb or a Sneasel. Aside from Luxray, these were all created during my Leaf Green days, so I didn't power level all those in two weeks :P

    Luxray Lv. 70
    Snorlax Lv. 100
    Charizard Lv. 100
    Aerodactyl Lv. 100
    Dragonite Lv. 100
    Kyogre Lv. 100

Do any ghost-type pokemon resemble zombies?
  • godgod
    edited May 2007
I found a copy of Diamond, and have played almost constantly since 12:00. I'm typing this during the time between attacks.
I've noticed that, at least around here, Diamond is selling much faster than Pearl.
  • edited May 2007
No, Slick, not that I know of... but I think that if there were any zombies, they'd be dark-type instead of ghost-type.

My copy of Pokemans is on the way! It's my first promo/review game since I got my job. I am hoping that you guys will all give me your castoffs and let me jump into battling sooner!
